Unlike civilized places like the US. You have to be at least 12 to get

I doubt that judges in Mass ever give permission for 12 YOs to marry. Anyway, a nine year old vulva being penetrated is obscene. I doubt that even a pedophile would do such a thing unless he was also seriously mentally ill, and lacking in human decency. A 13 YO marrying is socially objectionable to most of us for many legitimate reasons, both social and because pregnancy is more likely to threaten their health. Also, in the USA, there are plenty of alternatives to consenting to marriage. I object to allowing parental veto in all cases, but am fine with requiring judicial approval where the parents can state their objections.
