I bought a jar of olives and one of the olives did not have a pimento
in it. Should I return the jar to the store? That looks like a
defective olive to me.

As olives do not grow with pimento inside, I would judge that the olive
itself is just fine. The pimento may be defective. Or it may be at the
bottom of the jar. Or it could be up your ass, where your head seems to be.
