Default Decent Steak Knives

Hello,

I am looking for a recommendation for some decent steak knives that
aren't too pricey, simple design with a low maintenance sharp edge.
Maybe a set of 8 for less than $50.00 US. Could go higher if the value
was good.

Thank you,

Jason

I bought a really nice set at Costco. You might check there.

I don't know about the pricey part but I had a set of the Costco ones
during my first marriage. They ruled. Highly recommended.

The omportant part is the sharpener, not the knives.

I think I'll go into the omport business.

OK, "im".

These are the nicest steak knives I've ever used, they actually have a
scalloped edge (not serrated) so they don't tear.

I always grab for a serrated steak knife, don't need sharpened.

I really like Ginsu's. Until the plastic handle comes loose. That's the as
seen on tv model.

I'm not much of a steak fan. I have a filet mignon about once a year, and
generally don't even need a knife for that.

The rest of the time, it's either hanger or flat iron steak, whose texture
benefits greatly from extremely thin slicing. For that sort of slicing, a
serrated blade is not optimal, as it shreds when it cuts. I prefer a very thin,
very sharp steak knife.

IOW, if it requires a chain saw to cut it, I'd throw it out and eat something
else. 8 Ymmv, of course.
