I got a nice bag of local apples, and there were corn tortillas on sale,
the smaller ones. What kind of fruity dessert could you make from these? I saw a recipe where the tortillas were baked to crisp them with brown sugar sprinkled on top, I'd guess cinnamon would be good, too. Maybe if they were crisped in muffin tins to create bowls? If you were to make something like this, what else would you add? I don't often eat dessert so something made as a healthful treat would be nice. |

Sounds like you've already got a pretty good handle on it. I'd probably cut the tortillas into wedges, bake with cinnamon sugar until crisp, and use them as scoops for an apple-raisin compote. Like chips and salsa, only for dessert. Don't think for one minute that it's HEALTHY, though, those tortillas probably have a goodly share of carbs and fat. Bob |

i would either put them in a muffin tin to make them a bit sturdier and then
slice and fill with apples cinnamon nutmeg and a slice of cheese on top, bake just long enough to soften the apples and melt the cheese, Lee "Cheryl" > wrote in message ... >I got a nice bag of local apples, and there were corn tortillas on sale, >the smaller ones. I'd omit the tortilla and eat that with a spoon. |
