For Christmas...I'd like a few more Henkles knives to finish my collection,
for my Kitchen Aid mix I'd like the pasta maker attachment, a gift
certificate for cake decorating classes.

Ok that's what I want but here's a few idea's if you don't have these
already...
crockpot, breadmaker, indoor grill, fondue pot, platters, wine glasses, wine
charms, popcorn popper, electric knife.

Hope this helps,

I have all those things. I just want to see President and Mrs. Bush
back in the Whitehouse again for four more prosperous years.
He is a great hero for our youth.

A kitchen remodel. I won't make anything since it's

A deep fryer... :-)

Chicken and fish.

Simple I know, but I've never owned one!

I'm thinking about the All clad two-burner grill. I have pretty much
everything I need, although I like taking advantage of Christmas to have my
kids and husband get me new oven mitts and kitchen towels.

If I decide to go for the grill I'll probably just buy it myself in the
next couple of weeks. Why wait!??

I got my dream gift for my kitchen (and the rest of the house) and it
started last week: a cleaning service, comes every two weeks. Woo
hoo!!!! The house is now clean, and will soon be organized, and I
actually got all my work done for the week for my job (I run my own
business) AND I made appointments for medical things and got other
errands done. What can I say?

Maybe one of these: http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=2802

Or, maybe: http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=5282
even though it's tailored for a right hander, and I swing from the
south side of the plate. (OBBaseball: How 'bout those Sox?)

A house in which to put a kitchen, but somehow, I don't

Dammit Nancy, I didn't think any responses would make me envious, but yours
sure did! Thing is, I can't get any housecleaners to return my calls. I
think the previous owners of the house must have been blacklisted or
something. Every time I call a cleaning service, I get an answering machine,
then nobody ever calls me back.

Grrrr....I'm *so* envious!

Kitchen's fine, but I could use a Carribean beach to move it to. ;-)

I've got a bottom freezer and I'm 6'3". One of the benefits of the bottom
freezer is that the refrigerator section is up higher. Since I'm in and out
of the refrigerator much more than the freezer it's nice not to have to
stoop to get stuff off the lower shelves.

But you don't mind stooping even lower to rummage through that awkward and
*inefficient* roll-out freezer basket?

Amen, Sister!

I will never buy another top freezer. Though I will probably not opt
for the Amana again, as I have not had good luck with it, the next
time I buy a fridge, it'll be a bottom freezer.

I have a upright freezer, too, so I have no everyday use of the
freezer part of the fridge. I use it for ingredients storage,
mostly...flours, nuts, spices, a pound or 3 of butter and ice cubes. I
use the fridge part 25 times for every 1 use of the freezer
compartment. I love having everything I need easily at hand.

But you don't mind scrunching/kneeling to dig into that horrid abyss of a
freezer... besides, who in their right mind wants to store joints of flesh in a
freezer rolls out like the slabs at the morgue... goulish I tell ya! Anyway, I
didn't think they sold freezers in Minnesota, don't need to... don't yoose all
just pick a spot right outside the back door to dig a hole in the tundra? LOL

Given how often I'm in the freezer vs. the refrigerator I'll take the
bottom-mounted freezer when it comes to stooping inconvenience. I'm in and
out of the refrigerator many times during the day but only go into the
freezer on occasion.

I don't find using the roll-out basket any more awkward than using a
standard top-mounted freezer.

Well, then you're an anomoly. The vast majority don't like bottom freezers
(for many various and sundry reasons), evidenced by how the vast majority of
fridge manufacturers no longer offer those and haven't for many years.

Yeah, that's about the statistic I heard once, too. It just makes so
much sense to arrange them that way. I wonder if it really IS more
expensive to make them this way, thus the higher price.

Cleaning service?! Cleaning service?!

I am jealous! That would be great, but not in the financial cards for me
at the moment.

Ramekins for creme bruelle and a roomba robot vacuum would make a very

Yeah, when I bought a fridge a few years ago there weren't a lot to choose
from with bottom freezers.

Truth be told I don't use my freezer much at all. Off the top of my head, I
think all I have in my freezer right now is some ice, herbs and spices,
frozen pizza dough, and some sausages I made last weekend. Oh yeah, I've
also got some bannetons in there in an attempt to keep them away from the
bugs. There are a lot of bugs here in the swamps.

To me the main benefit of a bottom-freezered refrigerator is having the
refrigerator part up higher.

Take care,
-Mike
