Apparently, there is a perception that nursing jobs are nowhere to be
found. It's just a dead-end career. I'd like to invite any BSNs to
send me their reume if they are willing to relocate to KY. Or you
could just stop trying to discourage a person who has just started on
a nursing career. You people are truly...pathetic.

Not relocating is one of the prime reasons I became a nurse. I
sacrifice enough of my life for the job without having to hopscotch
myself around the country chasing employment.

I'm not trying to judge you, but I'm going to go ahead and do it. You
have 3 very serviceable BS degrees, You're working in a Nursing Home.
You're unwilling to move, Could the problem be you? I'm not asking for
"hopscotch", Move once. And stop bitching. There has never been a lay
off. You apparently have a problem that makes you unemployable.

Like I told you, I've worked in long term care for decades, other facets
of nursing too. Healthcare is in deep, deep shit. If your perception is
that healthcare is in good shape and that YOUR bonus next year will be
the biggest ever, you are in healthcare administration. There is a huge
difference between your job and ours.

But kudos to you for calling a BSN a dumbass (you were recruiting me a
few posts back). Keep up the alienation!!

I think I've made it pretty clear I'm in IT. Nobody reports to me. I'm
also not a recruiter. I don't give a shit who works here. And I was
recruiting you because I knew you were talking out of your ass and
would back down in a second. Of course, if you had taken me up, I
could have given you an inside line to the right people. I have yet to
hear from one person who is so "desperate" that they would contact me
for a sure BSN job. Wow. What a tough market. I feel so sorry for you.

Now, Healthcare. Yes, Healthcare IS in deep, deep shit. It needs to be
fixed and I don't really know what that fix looks like. But if you
think it involves loss of profits, you're kidding yourself.

As for my Bonus. You're not going to believe this, but it's 100% true.
If you have old coworkers in the area they can verify. EVERY employee
gets this bonus (called "gainsharing" because we are a non-profit).
EVERY employee gets the same amount. The amount is significant but not
obscene.

You're a bitter old hag who would rather complain than do something
positive. Don't poison other peoples' dreams just because your
personality didn't allow you to get ahead.

I've seen movies where nurses got into lots of different positions.

Saint Louis MO. Home of the Barnes/Jewish/Christian Northeast (BJC)
hospital system, and it was Barnes/Jewish college (now Goldfarb School
Of Nursing) from which I got my BSN. Also a number of SSM hospitals,
the newly renamed Mercy hospital system, and St Louis University
(SLU) hospitals. We have a LOT of hospitals in STL. I applied at many,
had very few interviews, no job offers so I finally applied for and
got an offer and a job at a MO Veterans Home. Night nurse taking care
of our heroes (veterans).

Something doesn't add up and I think you know that. What do you think
the problem is, honestly?

The problem is I do not have a lot of contacts or connections. It's
not who you know, it's whom. And I don't know anyone. And the hiring
managers don't know me. People in charge of hiring tend to hire those
whom they know, of which I am not one.
