Cain that is.

And the fork does add food related legitimacy to this post.

Clearly the word hypocrite is not part of your lexicon.

That's too bad. I was SO hoping that he'd win Iowa, because Romney is
sure to win NH, and that would mean the good ol' boys in SC would have
to choose between a *colored* and a Mormon.

Better keep an eye on Cain. First thing you know, he'll turn up with a real
birth certificate. Then, something totally disgraceful like American
parents. Next, somebody will go all racist and suggest that he's black.

after that who knows, somebody might figure out what most business owners
already know which is that ins cos push the accuser to get paid off to save
all the laywering fees even if they are lying outright... i dunno about any
other women, but being harrassed would not get me bought for a threee month
severance which is what i would have gotten for an ordinary resignation...

guess it takes all kinds, wonder what happened to the answer to clinton and
kennedy, which was always"his personal life doesn't affect his job
preformance...

I rather like herman given the rest of the republican group. Lee

Meh. In the 90s telling a co-worker that she looked nice today could
earn you a trip to HR.

On the other hand that's a situation that has changed so much that the
12 years they are talking about makes it meaningless.

I could do something today that would get me fired on the spot for
harrassment. I could then get into a time machine, go back 12 years, do
the exact same thing, and no one would notice.

Worse I could do something 13 years ago that no one noticed but one
person remembered. Then they could wait a year as the fault lines of
the topic changed. Then they could file suit with a good lawyer and get
a settlement because it's easier to pay a settlement than it is to fight
a court case. That's what I think happened here. Just to check, have
many other women come forward? If not he got caught doing something
that had been accepted for many years as the rules changed out from
under him.

Heck, having someone in charge who has already been burned by the rules
changing out form under him is a beneficial bit of experience in my
view. Cases like this aren't exactly news these days.

You know, I really don't care if Obama, all the Republican candidates, the
Californians and the Libetarians sleep with the Pope. Too many qualified
and hard-working people are out of a job; too many people have watched their
savings go down the tank. Enough! already. Polly

The banks and corporations should take a 50% write off on the debt the
American people owe them, all mortgages should be re set to current
property values and the mortage turned into a 30 year fixed rate.

The banks SHOLD NOT be reimbursed for the massive paper work this
will take because it was their greed and ignorance that created it in
the first place. Nor should the banks be able to pass along the cost
of restructuring thier obligations to those they illegaly defrauded.

It is at lest possible that succh a restructuring of the natonal
debt could lead to a greater real return over 30 years than the
presant draconian enforcment of the status quo is going to bring
down in value even further.

And speaking of 999 Herman Cain and public service pensions....

I find him refreshing in his "outsider" status. Interesting as a "real
person" (however flawed and ignorant) and am so fed up with commercially
pre-processed packaged politicians sold as commodities that i would vote
for him for that reason alone, IF i thought he had a chance .... my fear
is that as desirable as i think it would be to get a "real person" in
that office i also think its too big for any one person, and the office
of president as well as they way we select it needs radical fixes.

1. Government (voter) funding of very short campaign seasons. The
candidates can only spend the public money they get on their campaigns
and if they qualify for the ballot they all get exactly the same
amount, the available pool shared between them. No saving and
'converting' campaign funds upon retirement.

2. Voter approved pay and other perks of any elected job. Elected
officials being unable to give them selves raises or benefits without
the voters approving. I would argue for it being a minimum wage job
with only those perks available to the least amongst us, with perhaps a
long term cumulative reward for extensive and honourable service (Nixon
kept his pension).

3. Elimination of the electoral collage.

4. Emulation of the British parliamentary "vote of no confidence" to
remove an administration rather than the "Impeachment" of the president.

It seems to me the system has become the province of the wealthy in a
more unhealthy way than usual even down to some of the lowest grass
roots city council level. Not only do we need more "outsiders" in
government but more working rather than middle or the more likely
wealthy who can afford the campaigns capable of selling them like a
commercial product.

Of course all the above will have little to no effect unless connected
to a revitalization of Americas educational system. Teachers of your
young should be as rewarded for their efforts as any senator or
congressman. Decent pay, job security, good benefits so they can do the
job they love to do with a sense of it making a difference and being
appreciated for it.

Rather than suffering the assault on their profession and reason for
being in order to breed a generation of ignorant lumpen prole drones
that will supposedly accept a harsher, meaner, crueller world than we
know today.

HIstory tends to demonstrate a rather predictable response to the
present global economic crisis. War. Only this time no place on the
earth will be able to stay out of it. I for one don't believe for a
minute that "they" have not already weaponized space.

They're all too old for the Pope. Catholic clergy like 'em really
young.

We need a serious hard turn to the left, then once we get everyone
working again, a move back toward the center. In other words, if the
private sector is not producing jobs, tax the shit out of the rich
with a wealth tax* and high taxes on capital gains, and create public
sector jobs. Target tax breaks on capital that is used for
technological efficiency--even though those efficiencies might reduce
the number of labor hours needed for production--and job creation.
Accelerate health care reform, so that American companies are not
burdened with providing medical insurance benefits. Allow inheritance
taxes to expire, but put in exemptions for the few family owned
farming operations by exempting the value of the land from the
inheritance tax. Institute carbon dioxide taxes, but offer every cent
of those increased revenues as tax reductions on income from non-
fossil fuel sources of energy.

I welcome any disagreements with my suggestions.

If you allow inheritance taxes to expire, why do you need exemptions for
family owned farms?

And do you really mean inheritance tax, or do you mean estate tax?
