Cereals are typically sweet, or at least sweetened. Most cereals are not
bland. Nuts, while tasty, are unsweetened in their natural form. Adding a large amount of unsweetened nuts to cereal takes away from the sweetness of cereal, making it bland. Solution: Only add a small amount of nuts to cereal. W. Pooh (AKA Winnie P.) |

I used to get them when I was a kid. Thought I was being naughty because of the name. Thought they had beer in them. |

The factor here is that shredded wheat has no added suger, but most (all?) nut-containing cereals are sugared. So it may make sense to add your own nuts. Steve |

We used to add sugar, but that would be weird on the breakfast cereals I eat nowadays. |

Or add sweetened nuts to your cereal, or put more sugar on it. Cereal is, generally speaking, pretty awful stuff. Better to eat the nuts, sweetened or unsweetened, and skip the cereal. -S- |
