I like GG's presentation more. Larger type (I'm an old guy), only one
window/desktop/whatever you want to call it, but of course GG does not
thread the articles either.

That has nothing to do with Agent and everything to do with the news
server, mr 'computer engineer'.

The presentation is all about the CLIENT PROGRAM, dufus!! And yes, I
know the speed at whoch I can see my own posts is because I am posting
and reading from the same news server (or cluster of servers). Duh!

That doesn't always happen immediately. And we REALLY DON'T want to
hear your crying all over again when it doesn't. Or about any other
problems with Agent or Motzarella.

Make that your last thread about Usenet readers. You're as irritating
as a bad ****. And for an "old guy", you sure do act like little
spoiled little brat, yelling "look at me! look at me!".

So increase the font size, as is SO obvious in the options, mr
'computer engineer'. Sheesh.

For Headers, Browser and Status Bar? Not what I want increased in
size!!!

I want the MEAT enlarged! The message headers, text of the messages,
etc. I see no way to enlarge those.

Your MEAT is enlarged! I respectfully suggest you stop playing with it!

You can increase the font size for your message body and TOC in Agent
and you don't have to use any more than one desk if you don't want to.

YOU can, I have yet to find out where I can change the specific things
I want to change. And YOU are not helping, Mr Cryptic!

I can't be specific because I don't use your version. Mine is located
by clicking on "fonts" under Options > General Preferences. Looking
at http://www.forteinc.com/agent/faq.php I see: You can change the
font via Options | General Preferences | Display | Fonts.

If you want to see the topic threads, pick a topic and then click on
"options" and then "view as tree." If you want to see the posts sorted
by date you can probably figure out what to do. Google Groups also
allows you to see the complete header info by clicking on "more
options" and then "show original" on the individual post.

Google Groups is quite adequate for most people.
I don't know what the problem is now that the response time
has been improved. While using Firefox using Ctrl +
repeatedly increases font size to humongous if one
wants a larger font.

I agree. Folks can be just as incompetent on Google Groups as with any
of those "real" newsreaders. Google Groups does display some lag
occasionally. Mostly it's a short time but sometimes it's days. That's
the breaks. Good thing I have backup.

OTOH, I've lost whole posts going through my NNTP server. This never
happened before but is happening frequently these days. That's the breaks.
