![]() Thanks to Sqwerts I/we knew what to look for. I've been looking for months with no sign of the little buggers. Today we were in a liquor store and Louise spotted them thanks to the pictures Steve posted. I asked the guy working there if they've always had them and he said they fly off the rack whenever he can get them. They had 6 bags and I bought them all. I've never hoarded food but those babies are stashed away in a closet for the holidays. Me happy as it's been years since I've had them. Lou |

I'm sure you didn't have to share one with your cat, though. She loves that cheese stuff. nancy |

Whenever I go to this particular store, the only one that carries them, I know to grab two or three because they will not be there the next time I go. Then it will be some time before they show up again. Having said that, these are under the Wise brand, and that's always been the snack chip king, taking up half the aisle. In the past couple of years or so, it's become a challenge to even find the Wise section of the aisle. I don't know what happened there, other brands have edged them out. > Conspiracy - I'm sure of it. I think I'm going to call Old London and > see why they stopped distributing them. Ain't seen those in forever. I love those damn things and still jones for one, now and then. Thought about them jes the other day, in fact. Used to buy Old London brand in a long narrow single row cellaphane covered box. Last time I saw any at a mkt has to be well over 20 yrs ago. I don't know about that amazon deal. $25 and no free shipping? Now that I know a little history, maybe I can find 'em elsewhere. nb |

The waffle crackers were over done. Not burnt black but definitely over browned. They had like half the filling they did the last time I had them. It looks like my sneaky friend opened a bag over the weekend. This bag isn't burnt and has the amount of cheese they used to have. This is very weird. How could one bag and not the batch be so different? I need to look for a Cheese Waffie investigator. Lou |

If he ate any it wasn't many. He can and does help himself to anything he wants here. He's the only one who has keys to this place and spent 6 days watching it when we went to Florida. He's a Chicago paramedic. His brother is also a friend and is a Chicago fireman. The brother-in-law is a Chicago cop as is my friends ex-wife. The evidence he left was to make sure I knew he was ****ing with me. I'm very lucky to have this group as friends. I read that if you have five "close" friends you're a lucky person. I'm lucky and any of them can all the Cheese waffies they want. Lou |

It's a free standing cabinet in a room off the kitchen. It's about 9 years old and never had food in it. We keep serving dishes and other things that don't get used much in it. Louise said she heard us talking about them so I have no clue what happened. We watched a football game and then spent 4 hours clearing out my basement and drank the whole time so the day is kinda foggy. Lou |

At one time the city was paying for cooking classes for the firehouse cooks so he knows his way around the kitchen so we always make a nice dinner. Lou |

I had a new theory, which may be relevant to some of the poorer than expected meals. I noticed this when I was comparing brownies recipes and preparing to make one. I looked and looked and looked at the amount of butter required and thought it said 6 ounces, which struck me as odd, because the other recipes called for 8 ounces. Only after looking at least four times did I see that it was indeed 8 ounces. I guess I need to see the ophthalmologist again. A friend had another theory, which is probably relevant. Over the years, the amount of spices I use has increased, so what struck me as nicely seasoned before might very well strike me as being insipid now. -- Jean B. |
