I hope you saved a few samples to determine how long they can be kept before
their quality suffers.

My suggestion is that you place some bacon between some maple syrup
soaked pancake pieces and then enrobe that in chocolate. That would be
tasty. I'd buy that for a dollar. Irradiating this will greatly increase
it's shelf life. Do you have a source of high-energy nuclear particles?

Yes it would, but I'm gonna start with what I know.

I think what I'm gonna do is fry up some bacon, cover it just like I
did (I actually painted the melted chocolate on with a 1 inch wide
paintbrush that I use as a pastry brush!) and then wrap each strip in
plastic wrap and refrigerate it, putting one strip in each box of
candy the day I give that box of candy. And I'll tell/warn the
recipients too! :-)

Cosmic rays are free.

Watch out that the neighborhood dog doesn't steal them, though.

I'd worry more about those sneaky little cats stealing my rays. Leave
a sunny spot unattended for just a moment...

Our main problem is that pesky ionosphere making life difficult and
requiring us to refrigerate our foods. We should take a hint from nature
and keep foods in a big box that blasts foods with high intensity
x-rays. This could save us a lot over the cost of running a
refrigerator. :-)

With bacon, maple, and pancake inside I wouldn't use chocolate on the
outside. Maybe a coffee-flavored hard candy shell instead?

You're probably right about this. How about wrapping bacon around
fingers of pancakes with maple syrup, dipped in batter and then corn
flake crumbs and deep fried? I'd buy that for a dollar - maybe even
$1.25. :-)
