I post daily recipes to a forum and a Facebook group I moderate.
These recipes tend to be older and simpler dishes to make and are from around the world - although the next 9 months will have a heavier emphasis on German, Amish, and Kansas-German cooking. (I'm Kansas- German, my wife is German, and we are Mennonites.) I eat low-carb, so low-carb dishes have a net carbs count, other dishes don't. Would anyone like for me to post those recipes here as well? This is today's recipe: Gulaschsuppe (Goulash Soup) - a German Recipe You may add potatoes to this soup. Wash and pare the potatoes and cut them into 1 inch cubes. Of course, the soup won't be low-carb after you add the potatoes. Serves 6. 13 grams net carbs per serving. 2 cups chopped onion 1/4 cup shortening 3 chopped green peppers 3 Tbsp tomato paste 1 lb beef 1 red pepper 1 tsp paprika 2 minced garlic cloves 6 cups beef broth 1 Tbsp lemon juice 1/4 tsp caraway seeds Cut the beef into 1 inch cubes. Saute onions until they are transparent. Add the green peppers and tomato paste. Cover. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients. Simmer until the beef is tender - about 90 minutes. -- Mike Visit my forums at: http://www.facebook.com/groups/mikes.place.bar/ http://forums.delphiforums.com/mikes_place1/start You can find my books at my Amazon.com author page: http://tinyurl.com/695lgym |
