Andf if people drove 5 MPH less per hour than they do now we would save
enough gasoline that could cut our imports by 20%. So far, nobody has taken
up the challenge.

The guy in front of me on Rt. 16 this morning has. But I managed to
pass him and increased my speed enough to offset his savings.

There was a time when I regularly drove from New Jersey to
Massachusetts. I found that the trip took about two gallons per hour
whether I drove 50 mph or 70. I can't explain everything I observe.
