Default Pancake Day

Shrove Tuesday for those who got to church, but Pancake Day in my house.

I have some good breakfast sausage, some peameal and some good side
bacon. I picked up some buttermilk and we are making blueberry
buttermilk pancakes.

I want to drill down into what "peameal" is. Isn't it like kibble
that you feed to your peafowl? Procurable in 80 lb sacks?

Something new to learn each day Dang - I'd've figured "peameal"
meant pea flour or something like that (choke choke - VBG)! Thanks for
the link.

Did you mean it's okay as long as they aren't green?

Yesterday was Paczki Day, as recognized by no less than Mitt Romney.

Not being a Catholic I had to look this up. Sure enough, Shrove Tuesday was
Pancake Day. The day before Ash Wednesday. On Shrove Tuesdays you are
allowed to eat pancakes laden with butter, dairy and other things. Go ahead
and indulge the day before Ash Wednesday. Then you have to give everything
up for Lent.

Religious food rules have always confused me. That's one reason I'm an
agnostic. I'll eat whatever I want to when I want to. Church traditions be
damned.

I am not religious, but once in a while I like breakfast for supper and
this is the perfect excuse to do it ;-) My brother came over to join
us. He loves pancakes. His wife had a bunch of appointments and then
Pilates . Besides, she is already on a diet. I didn't have to lift a
finger, and everything was great. Last night we had to have fish and
lots of vegetables to make up for the high fat high dinner shroves.

Think of Lenten fasting as a good way to lose weight for bikini
season.

Too bad I don't own a bikini Although chowing down on pancakes is the
surest way to keep me out of one.

Don't worry. He is likely to have the problem in hand.
