I've only read the book to get ideas; I haven't followed any of the
recipes. I bought the book long before most of those reviews were
written, and I find myself mostly in agreement with "psusfca" who wrote,

"I have seen nothing that is the least bit out of the ordinary and
nothing that reveals anything new to me. I am so disappointed. I thought
my St. Patty's Day Dinner Party would hit new high notes from some of
the great recipes I anticipated finding...I so wanted to show off that
'Irish Cuisine' could outshine my other half's Italian anscestry.[sic]
This book is not giving the ammunition to demonstrate that."

After reading some of the wonderful reports from people who vacationed
in Ireland, I was really hoping for more *interesting* food, like the
food Felice described in 2009, or what I've been reading about the
Ballymaloe hotel/restaurant/school, but this book falls short in that
respect. I suppose if you want TRADITIONAL Irish food, this book is a
good place to start, but that's not what I was after. Unfortunately,
that's the only Irish cookbook I currently own, and I'm not inclined to
seek out another.
