And it was perfectly germane to turn the subject to your failed career, since your insults were medically related (OCD, fatty acids), and since the reason you can't get a job in that career is because you look like a freakin' nutcase to anyone who does the kind of internet background checks that pretty much always get done for a position like BSN nurse. The past several weeks where you kept egging me on have made you look even nuttier. Doing self destructive things because you just can't check your own emotions is not an attractive attribute. The true test of any professional is their ability to gain, and retain, relevant employment in their chosen field. Graduates ares only considered professional if they are working in their chosen field. You, on the other hand, seem to be nothing more than a permanent student. > > A janitor is just a janitor. I started out at 15 as a clerical assistant with NO particular skills. My employer saw fit to train me in all aspects of work and then sent me on to professional training, some of it full time. I think I spent about 3 years full time at Uni in my mid 20s and a further dozen years part time over the following 2 decades. I have had the one employer my entire working career and there was obviously faith in my ability as a professional since they provided both the funding and the time off work for my professional development. You, in your inability to either gain or retain relevant employment, cannot in any way consider yourself a professional. At least Bryan is "employed". You, with all your grandiose claims, do not even have that! Get off your high horse! You don't belong there! -- Krypsis |

Plus I've been through the BLS certification course twice and passed both times. Bryan can wax a mean floor. Pick one to attend to you during your heart attack. John Kuthe... |

Did you know that the housekeepers, unit secretary and other unlicensed employees at the hospital also have a BLS card? Try to impress us when you've got at least an ACLS card *and* some first hand experience in doing those compressions and pushing those drugs..... As to your "professionalism"-IME new grad nurses are wet behind the ear for at least a year after working (full time/same job). If you piece together all the time and various jobs you've worked as an RN since graduation will they even add up to be half a year? |

A total end means no more contact but you two still write and try to cut each other down constantly. If you don't give a crap about someone, you don't even acknowledge them. "Shunning" is the word that comes to mind. You two used to be good friends and even lived together once, if I remember correctly. You BOTH still care about that friendship or you wouldn't keep bickering back and forth. It's somewhat amusing for me to read but it's also sad too. Best friends are friends forever and rare to find. Life is too short to trash one. May I suggest that you two get together sometime, share a few beers, and talk about the OLD good times. Both of you apologize for the recent crap that you've said about each other. Neither of you can change the past, but you can agree to start fresh and let the friendship continue. Dammit John and Brian.... kiss and make up. (but not in a *** way) ![]() Gary |

Don't get me wrong. Unemployment is there for people that need it and are trying to get another job and it can be a life saver. My only problem is with those that jump right on it, then stay on it as long as they can vs trying to find a new job. In my area here, there's always a job to be found. It might not be what you want but it can suffice until the better one becomes available. Gary |

Gary There's noting wrong with painting houses, as a young teen I did house painting jobs in the hood, one summer zI painted every stopp on the block. You can earn more painting houses than you can with an AA degree... heck, you can earn more painting houses than you can with a doctorate. And painting houses I bet you don't declare that income so you pay no taxes. Unemployment insurance is a ridiculous concept, it encourages folks to become idle do nothings. There are plenty of jobs out there, just not driving a desk... most jobs that are always available require one getting dirty hands, calluses, and perspiring. I've met several people recently who were laid off from their soft office jobs including a few teachers and instead of applying for unemployment insurance they immediately became self employed doing jobs requiring physical labor, they get paid in cash too and will probably never go back to their previous line of work because they net a much larger paycheck working for themselves. My last tenant was a special ed teacher, recently was laid off. When she had her job she moonlighted cleaning houses and offices, now she cleans full time and more than doubled her salary, and is her own boss and loves it. I know another for who losing his job was the impetus for fulfilling his long time dream, opening his own bicycle shop... he's doing very well with sales and repairs and especially now with the high price of gas people are buying bicycles as fast as they become available... there's actually a shortage now. Last year I hired a guy to clean my gutters, he was laid off from Allstate Insurance after 15 years... he makes much more cleaning gutters... now he installs gutters too. And I know several of the locals who have become full time painters. One of my neighbor's sons was laid off last year. He was always a car fanatic, his Stang was always spotless, now he does car detailing full time from home, he makes over $400 a day and has to turn jobs away for lack of time. There will always be lots of work for those willing to actually work. Unemployment insurance is just another useless grubbermint give away scheme. |

Obviously hospital hiring staff consider you a non-runner for employment and, if you couldn't be trusted to do jabs in a nursing home, you can't be considered a "professional" in ANY sense of the word. -- Krypsis |

Too many carbs!! Feh! :-( He > drinks cheap vodka watered down and flavored wirth Raspberry Ketones! > Yay! @@! Actually, I drink medium priced vodka with fresh squeezed lemon and/or lime juice, pure sucralose, and sometimes flavored with a little raspberry ketone. Now that I've transitioned to a reasonably flexible cyclic/targeted keto regime, I let myself have beer at least once a week. Usually it's crappy low carb beer, but today it's Negra Modelo. I also had some nice 85% cocoa chocolate and almost a pound of strawberries. Aldi has them for 99 cents right now. > > That's what I mean when I say he has become NO FUN at all anymore. > > No, I'll just let him wallow in his MCT oil/power sets delusional heaven. The sets were pretty brutal, but I already have bigger pecs than I have ever had, and all three sets of deltoids are looking good too. My abdominal obliques are perhaps a bit over-developed in relation to the lower back muscles, and I've had a bit of back pain the past few days. I don't think it's from too intense back extensions, but too much ab work. > I have NO INTEREST in participating in anything with Bryan anymore. You do seem interested in continuing to start conflicts with me. > The last couple of times I went to his house or ? it felt to > me like I might as well not even been there at all anyway. I'm not sure why that motivated you to pick fights with me. Seems to me that the most appropriate response would be to just ignore me. Instead of trading insults with you, I'll just answer insults with a reasonable amount of civility. Perhaps you'll get bored with giving me shit, or perhaps not. I've come to dislike you, as you have me, but I don't wish you ill, and this whole thing has gotten boring. > > John Kuthe... --Bryan |
