(And they are that fresh, they're still pulsating!!) What are they over there? > BTW hot chili and pepper are not inispensable: you can substitue with > lot of herbs ![]() I'm trying all options :-) -- Peter Tasmania Australia |

All self inflicted through years and years of excess. Besides, it's probably all lies like so much of what you post inevitably proves to be. > > It's cool.... I'm alive. And gaining weight!!! Barilla Bay? You must be joking??? You DO KNOW why they call that area just over from Hobart Airport the Pitt Water, don't you? Wasn't the smell a dead giveaway? Don't tell me you've only got a quarter of a nose to match your quarter of a stomach? If the wind is from the North East, the first thing that greets visitors at the airport is the stench of Barilla Bay (more correctly known as the Pitt Water). That stench is enough to make you heave, don't need to eat the oysters to feel crook. When they built Sorell Causeway, they interrupted the tidal ebbs and flows from the Pitt Water except for a small area they bridged. The area now does not get flushed well enough and the decaying matter creates a huge stench. There was some work done lengthening the bridge section in recent years to enable improved tidal flows but the stench still remains. Plug "Barilla Bay Tasmania, 1388 Tasman Highway, Cambridge TAS" into the Google Maps search box and you'll get an idea why Barilla Bay oysters might not be quite as good as others in the region. Eat enough Barilla Bay oysters and I'm not surprised you heave! You would do better to try the oysters from http://www.getshucked.com.au/media.html Another really good one is; http://www.freycinetmarinefarm.com/ This one is a bit far from Hobart but it is near a very popular tourist destination known as "Wineglass Bay". > >> 6 oysters could be enough for every person ![]() >> expensive ![]() > > > > They're as cheap as chips in Tassie. Not surprising, the place is full of oyster farms. You have only been to the one that caters to the mug tourists. It's not the best by far. When I took the grandkids over to Tassie for a holiday a couple of years back, a relative drove us straight past Barilla Bay saying that was for the mug tourist, people like you Peter. Took us to one further down the Tasman Highway. This oyster farm doesn't sell direct to the public but my relative knows the owner so we were well looked after. It's on the seaward side of the Sorell Causeway and the oyster farm gets a good flushing every tide movement > <snip> > >> BTW hot chili and pepper are not inispensable: you can substitue with >> lot of herbs ![]() > > I'm trying all options :-) > A gutless wonder such as yourself has few options. -- Krypsis |
