Oh, I'll elaborate. There are cells in the duodenum that send a
signal to the pyloric sphincter to release stomach contents more
slowly when they detect the presence of free fatty acids that have
carbon chains at least 12 carbons long. Caprylic acid (C:10) does not
delay stomach emptying, but lauric acid (C:12) does. That is also the
divide between those fatty acids that travel directly to the liver,
where they are processed into ketones, and the larger ones that are
absorbed into the lymphatic system. I imagine you're laughing your
ass off by about now ; -)

Is olive oil good enough?

Years ago, a friend told me about a band he knew, called Methyl Ethyl
and the Ketones.

Yes, I am laughing about your elaboration. That said, you sure did do the
research and know your stuff, Brian. Nice to know someone just doesn't read
one diet book and preach it. I still don't agree with your very high fat
diet but I do yield to your extensive knowledge and research.

Yes. Olive oil is good in pretty much every way.

All the good names have already been used.

The high fat diet isn't for people who've never been seriously
overweight. A diet that is mostly low glycemic carbs is fine for
folks who've never had weight issues. No one should go too low fat
because there are essential fatty acids. Bad things can
happen...bad...bad things. This really works for me. There are a few
things I miss, mostly fruit, but by the time my plums ripen, I should
be stabilized enough to enjoy them in moderation. I don't miss bread
or potatoes much, nor rice. Your disagreement with my high fat diet
should be purely aesthetic though. Calling it unhealthful would be
very incorrect. I eat way more fiber than the average high carb
eater. I even supplement fiber sometimes. Today, I'm sure I consumed
at least half a cup of psyllium husk with probably a half a gallon of
water.

I have tamed the insulin beast. I'm no less the hedonist, but now my
mind controls my eating, instead of my bodily urges doing so. I eat
richly, and this is completely sustainable. Breakfast was a scramble
of eggs, peppers, tomatoes and cheese, with a tall glass of iced
coffee with half&half. I'd also made 4 sausage patties that I
literally forgot about when serving breakfast, so those and a bunch of
psyllium was lunch, and I had few strawberries from my plot at the
community garden because I was there checking my plot and noticed some
ripe ones. Dinner was taco meat, refried beans, pico de gallo,
guacamole, and a little cheese, with two homemade margaritas made with
fresh squeezed lime and lemon, sweetened with sucralose. After I post
this, I'm walking to the garden so my wife can pick strawberries--she
needs me to lift off the bird excluder, as she's still recovering from
surgery. I haven't been physically hungry once today. I'm going to
put some marg in a plastic cup to take up to the garden. I'm not
going to be putting on any bodyfat today.

I'm living on borrowed time with this 15 year old computer and
dialup, but I'm in no mood for upgrading. Thanks for steering me to
those pics, I sincerely would love to add one of my own and may do so
in the near future if I can get someone to snap my picture. I swear
to God I loved the old photo booth. They had one on Hollywood Blvd
only half a block from where I lived. 4 shots for a buck, and time
between each flash to adjust your face for the sake of variety. Now I
feel like a creep for not having my picture in there. Ok, I'll try to
make it a priority on a rather short list of priorities that I'm
having a hard time dealing with because i'm one lazy son of a bitch.
I will go to that site again and see about placing a pic in there once
I have it taken. I actually have a few photos of myself here but do
not feel they represent me well. I want total honesty. Whatever pic
I post must be taken within a week of it's appearance on that site. I
didn't know that existed, thanks for sharing.

Ok, I get it, Queen Mary, could be anybody, male or female. Not
that it matters, it doesn't.

You really had no excuse, most every cell phone nowadays contains a
camera. Of course the more you chat about it the less one will
believe the pic you post will be of you... I don't think anyone
discussed posting their picture prior to it appearing.

I have a great excuse and more on the way if and when my creative
excuse-making prowess is called upon. My excuse is a good one, which
is that I never even knew the photo section existed until I was
steered to it yesterday.

I'm not a liar and never was. In fact, honesty is my main
virtue. When I feel like it I'll have a photo placed in that spot.
But prior to yesterday I never even knew that spot existed. And if I
send a photo it will be of me. That's why I won't send one now,
because I have some old ones here and would prefer to send something
that represents me in the here and now, not some glamour shot from 30
years ago. That's when I looked really good. Today I just look good,
on my way to whatever dwells immediately below that on the next lowest
level. Now you've got me antsy. I'm going back to that site -
didn't hang around long yesterday, just glimpsed it - and I'm going to
see what your picture looks like. I might even close my eyes and see
if I can guess who you are without seeing the name. Not easy because
there's a lot of pics in there. Anyway, what are you saying, that I'm
the only one who posts here on some regular basis who doesn't have a
pic on that board?

I looked at that RFC mug site again this morning. I see it hasn't been
updated since 2010. It's interesting to see a pic of who you are talking to
though. I haven't been here too long though so i feel that I'm not worthy of
adding my pic yet.

As far as updated pics... I would suggest everyone send in a current one
not some old one. If the website is still maintained, an update would be
nice.
