Until I watched the hour-long program on CNBC last night, I hadn't
realized that Costco is the largest seller of wine in the world. It was a good program. Watch it if you get a chance Janet US |

Discounted liquor, yipppeee !!! We (Idaho) tried last year to get rid of the state-owned liquor stores. Costco and others provided legal and $ support, but it just wasn't going to happen. They were going to try again this year but just gave up. Janet US |

Watch it if you get a chance I'd recorded it and I just watched it. I got a kick out of seeing the woman behind the addictedtocostco website. I found it when I was searching to see if I was missing a coupon book and I like reading her reviews of different products and see what other people have to talk about. nancy |

Will they be allowed to discount? Crazy laws in some places still forbid less than minimum prices. |

However, we are getting a wide choice of European cheese these days. I would love to have a look at the master list of products that are available to store managers. It has got to be huge and diverse. Janet US |

What would you use it for? Just curious. > I'm not a big breakfast for dinner person, but I sauté up longaniza and then scramble it with eggs for dinner and chorizo works just as well. Serve with rice or tortillas, salad or vegetable. I wouldn't hesitate to use chorizo in place of bits of ham in any recipe, but bean stew/stoup would be my favorite. I've made this recipe pretty much as written (yes, I even had Vaquero beans) Vaquero Bean and Chorizo Stew http://localkitchenblog.com/2011/01/...-chorizo-stew/ I've made this recipe too (didn't follow it to the letter) and it was very good. I always use thighs and I'm pretty sure I used fresh cilantro instead of ground coriander. Chicken with Chorizo http://www.cookstr.com/recipes/chicken-with-chorizo 4 servings Total Time: Under 2 Hours Skill Level: Easy Ingredients 3 tbsp olive oil 4 chicken legs Salt and freshly ground black pepper 9 oz (250g) smoked chorizo, cut into bite-sized pieces 1 red onion, thinly sliced 1 tsp ground coriander 1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and chopped 1 large zucchini, sliced 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 tsp dried thyme One 14.5 oz (411g) can chopped tomatoes 1 cup chicken stock ¼ cup dry sherry Directions 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Heat the oil in a large flameproof casserole over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Add the chicken and cook, turning occasionally, about 6 minutes, until browned; remove. 2. Add the chorizo to the casserole and cook, stirring often, for about 3 minutes; remove. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the onion. Cook, about 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the coriander and stir for 1 minute. Add the peppers, zucchini, garlic, and thyme, and cook about 5 minutes, or until the peppers begin to soften. 3. Add the tomatoes, stock, and sherry and bring to a boil. Return the chicken and chorizo to the casserole, cover, and bake 40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender. Variation: Spicy Chicken Casserole: Add 9 oz (250g) chopped new potatoes with the onion. In step 3, add a pinch of dried chile flakes. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |
