Default Caramels with flavor

Years ago I used to buy caramels that had a small amount of chocolate in the
middle. They were amazing.

But some companies combine chocolate and caramel to make something called
"chocolate caramel". "Chocolate caramels" don't taste like either chocolate
or caramel to me. I don't get it.
There's plenty of other great flavors for caramels, like butter rum, maple,
and maybe raspberry.

I make raspberry caramels as one of my Christmas Candies. They are now
my grand-nephew's favorite, he told me this year. :-) others like them
a lot too. They are one of my standards:

Those aren't what they used to be.

I like caramels (home made) that have been coated in chocolate.

The newest thing is flavored marshmallows. I saw maple and bacon
flavor just yesterday.

How many years ago are you talking... your taste buds got old and
died. Whenever you see the media showing some old fogey making a
ritual of taste testing wines, coffees, etc. it's bullshit... like
some 60 year old claiming a preference in beer; ahahahahahahahaha. . .

My favorite is Walnettos... you'd probably like this recipe:
http://www.walnettosinc.com/html/rec...onut_chews.htm
Walnettos are very healthful because walnuts contain Omega 3 fatty
acid, so scarf down all you want. hehe
I never liked Kraft caramels, I think they are flavorless and have an
oily mouth feel.

This recipe looks good. Sadly, I have never had a Walnetto, but I found
them on Google Images. I might have to order them online, just to try
this recipe. Thanks Sheldon.

The frustration that marketing brings to us is evident in all
things, not just food. It seems many simple good things are taken
away, then returned years later under a fancy name along with a fancy
price tag. Athletic shoes are the worst. Yes, it looks like in order
to get what you want these days you're going to have to learn how to
make it yourself. While you're making the caramels you miss and can
no longer find, I will be making my own shoes out of a truck tire and
velco straps. Just kidding, but I am stressed by shopping for
athletic shoes for my pounding walks. It's like if you find something
you like and you've got the cash, you better buy a bunch of it and
rent a locker somewhere to store it because you can bet your ass it
won't be there next time you go looking for it.

I did buy some recently, and they were stale.

I've never had a coconut caramel before. Interesting.

You can't make decent shoes yourself, and as averse as I am to
spending money unnecessarily, I happily spend the money for custom
made pedorthics. If you do "pounding walks," you should consider
them. No one I know has considered them a waste of money.

Several years ago I bought an extra NIB/NOS Cuisinart Little Pro Plus
off of eBay. Old Corning Ware Permaceram is available there too.
Pricey, but they don't make that anymore, and haven't since the
mid-'80s.

Hi Bryan. What the hell are "pounding walks?" hehehe Did you coin that
phrase? I've never heard it. Do you do long fast walks and stomp all the
miles like you are ****ed off at something? (Long walks would **** me off
too though)

And what is pedorthics? Oh, I know but why didn't you just say SHOES! ;-)
running shoes, walking shoes, exercise shoes. Who the hell would call them
pedorthics other than some foot doctor that owns stock in a shoe company?

Some ppl here call me out for things I say but I don't say things that I
don't know about (like the diet stuff). I happened to be a serious runner
for years so I do know something about diets and running shoes, etc.

About the shoes though. It's funny....I tried many kinds and as it turned
out, the cheapest shoes I could buy were the best ones in the long run. I
wasted so much money trying the more fancy expensive ones but always
returned to the cheapos. I'm not suggesting anything to anyone else....for
me though, the cheapest running shoes worked best. I was lucky.

Gary

I would laugh though to see "pounding shoes" in the store. Probably low
carb.

Sounds like divinity--real divinity. The kind that breaks your $300 mixer.

????? What do you consider 'real divinity'? I've made it with a
$10 hand mixer. It is about 1/2 air-- pretty light and fluffy.

All I know about divinity comes from watching Emeril Live.

Emeril made the hard stuff.

He has a sweet tooth.

That is true, I have broken to mixers making divinity. When it begins to
smoke, you know it is over. This KitchenAid mixer can hang in there,
though.
