Are there people who follow on-line Peppi's recipes on a regular
basis ? For years I have ignored Cheap Thrills Cuisine' believing there is nothing good in recipes which come as a comic strip, until there was a recipe for lamb noisettes which attracted my attention as I am a big fan of lamb. Those are not your favorite recipes from Iron Chef or acrobatics from Michelin's restaurant, but are straightforward, simple and they came out delicious. After that I got more interested and have tried Vichyssoise soup their way, portobelo Provencal, Sicilian ciopino... Now we make something from Cheap Thrills Cuisine few times a year whenever something interesting pops-up, those are totally good recipes and a far cry from comics as I believed. |

Nice to see you again. Are you still posting here under a different pen name? -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

Nah, I am just more a lurker than a poster. And I am surprized that people don't pay more attention to chef Peppy's recipes (chef Lombardo in a real life), given his "comic" strip is published in number of daily newspapers across USA and Canada, just beside Garfield, Doonesbury, Peanuts... Perhaps because people are skeptics just as I was, when it comes to recipes in a form of a comic strip. Especialy as many of his recipes have a note of Italy, as Mr. Lombardo is of Italian heritage. 1. http://www.gocomics.com/cheap-thrills-cuisine 2. http://www.wpmediaservices.com/cheap.htm 3. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/199...lombardi-strip |
