Default fiddleheads west of Boston

Someone (Tracy?) mentioned extremely expensive fiddleheads. I saw
some at the Market Basket in Burlington for 5.99/lb. (Note that I
doubt that means they are at every MB--maybe just the big,
spectacular ones.)

Yes, I saw them in Russo's for, I think it was, 14.99 per pound.
I like to have them at least once a season, so I might check out the
Burlington MB this weekend. Maybe a side trip to HMart too.

I was in the Chelsea MB last week and I didn't see them there. I
wasn't really looking for them though. That store is insane.

I saw them in the local fruit and vegetable stand the other day... $5.99
/lb. I had had some about a week earlier. That was my seasonal splurge.
IMO, they are too much like asparagus to spend twice as much on them....
but I do like to have them at least once in the spring.

I keep looking in the woods behind us. There are lots of ferns growing
wild, but I never see the fiddleheads.

Burlington is that way on the weekend too. The HUGE parking lot
gets really clogged.

I am pleased that the ferns in the conservation area (and here)
are growing. I like ferns!

I've been there on the weekend. It's ridiculous.
I really try to avoid going. My husband does most of the shopping,
but I will go with him every once in a while.
