Also jes got a new flat panel LCD monitor, my old CRT monitor having died last weekend. Jay-sus! ....I'm being dragged into the 21st century, kicking and screaming. ![]() Also bought a doz organic eggs from Safeway. Jes wanna get a good recipe perfected b4 I burn out on the damn things ....which I need to do, they having 4 eggs and a whole stick of butter (1/4lb) per batch. Here I went semi vague'n to lower my cholesterol and now I'm shooting myself in the foot with a home baked desert. Ya' can't deny yer palate. ![]() nb -- vi --the heart of evil! Packed with flavor. I've heard it claimed that fertilizers cause large growth but low in flavor, while growth without fertilizer or just organic fertilizer causes smaller but more concentrated growth. Another possibility is that the type of farmer who grows organic is also the type who invests more care producing a quality product, rather than quality being a result of organic methods. |

There is no such thing as organic food, not so long as there's precipitation and gravity. And it's very easy to tell that produce isn't organic, if it has no insect damage it's not organic. The idiots who pay nearly double for perfect looking organic produce have smaller brains than an insect. I don't use any insecticides in my vegetable garden, it's rare I harvest anything that doesn't show some sign of insect nibbling. |

I bought some org eggs from one store. Pitiful. Little/no flavor improvement, not even as good as the store's cheapo egg-factory eggs. I'm trying another org brand from another store. We'll see. I used to buy eggs from a cow orker who raised chickens at home. They were beyond good, almost freakishly excellent. Yolks bright orange! Not yellow. They stood up like Pam Andersons hooters. So thick and rich, were like yellow honey. I've never seen eggs like that again, organic or otherwise. That was 30 yrs ago. I'd raise some egg chickens if I could, but can't. It got electricuted during a lightening storm and would only turn on occasionally and then after a couple minutes cut off. Sony wanted me to ship it to their repair shop in Florida, R U Nutz! I managed to lift it off its stand onto a blanket on the floor and dragged to the next room where it sat for six months. Meanwhile I bought the 55" Vizio. One day I went to try the Sony and amazingly it turned on and played perfectly, it took that long for the charge in its built in spike arrestor to bleed out, least that's what I was told by the cable tv tech. I offered it to a few people but the cheapo *******s would only take it if I delivered it... I decided to keep it, it plays well and has an excellent picture for a flat screen crt. It cost $2,200 ten years ago, when flat panels first came out and a small one cost $10,000. >My cats used to love old monitors. They could sit on them and stay warm. Most of the large scale recycling processes don't work out because they are so many different materials involved in TVs and monitors. So the equipment and labor needed to separate the different materials is higher than the resale value of those materials. |

If I dial > *228 on my current phone it gives an error message. This is all new information to me and I've been with Verizon for at least 10 years, probably a lot more. Shows how many times I've needed to call customer service if that was a standard part of the CS spiel. Are you saying that this is a way to be covered when we're in an area that coverage the map tells us Verizon doesn't cover, or does it just cover us when we are in a "black hole" within a coverage area? If it really switches carriers, I could have used that before my mother's death because she lived between two coastal mountain ranges in an area that was only covered by AT&T; so I had to borrow her cell phone if I wanted to make a long distance call. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

I live on what is pretty much a string of barrier islands. None of my friends and neighbors have cell phones because they don't work here, regardless of the carrier. A couple of times a year there is a recycling event at a local minor league baseball stadium in town (Go Bowie Baysox!) and they take electronics, old paint and other hazardous material (the list isn't all inclusive), old appliances, and they even have big paper shredders. I haven't seen an event lately but I'm on the watch for it. |

It's an LG501C and has even more stuff than I ever dreamed of. I bought it merely to trade cellphone pictures to my daughter (MMS), but discovered I can also access the internet, if necessary. It also has a real qwerty keyboard. Amazing! One thing to know, Susan. What you can get from tracfone is dependent on your location. I'm waaay out in the CO boonies, so only certain low end models are available in this area. I can't get the better models available If I lived in, say, Denver. It seems to be an area code thing. I could buy a more featured phone if I purchased it in Denver and settled for a Denver area code. OTOH, I can't imagine wanting more features than this cheapo LG model has. Pictures, txt msg, www access, qwerty keyboard, waaay more than I'll ever use. Plus, I got my 5 hr time xfered, no problem. Fees are more than reasonable. Reg voice phone and internet connection is a straight min-per-min fee. Txt msgs are only 1/3 min for the entire msg (120 characters). Lastly, I think this model automatically qualifies me for dbl-time mins, though I'm not real sure how that works. We'll see. I more than happy, as I thought I was gonna hafta spend 2X-3X as much for this level of phone. nb -- vi --the heart of evil! Support labeling GMOs <http://www.labelgmos.org/> |

It has more bells and whistles than I really want but most of the others are about the same size as the one I have now. I may decide that some of the other things are useful, like taking pictures. I almost always have my phone with me but rarely do I have my camera. The double minutes means that if you buy 60 minutes your actually get 120. Right now I have 1200+ minutes and pay $6+ per month to keep the account active. I am sure I can transfer my current minutes to the new phone. I have done that before when we got new phones. I will get it a soon as I get back from vacation. I have been using Tracfone for over 10 years. -- Susan N. I have a couple of Motorolas, the most recent one is the EX124G which has a lot of features, not that I use any of them. It replaced a Samsung, which was horrible to talk on. I've transferred my number probably 5 times without a problem. I've had the same cell phone number since 1995. |

Everyone else at work takes theirs out of the freezer and hogs the mw for 6 minutes. I've never found anything wrong with it when heated up thawed. |

I'd eat their french bread pizzas if they tasted better. I also think their vegetable lasagna is great, but it's too salty and they skimp too much on garlic & parmesan... so although I have the inclination, I don't buy them because salt doesn't equal flavor in my book. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |
