You're welcome. I posted it because I was blanking on our page.
:-( Ended up finding it via Victor's periodic posts re the FAQ.

I know exactly what you mean. It's times like this when I realize why
it's worth keeping the RFC site up and running... Hopefully, when I'm no
longer able to do so (for any reason), somebody else will take it over.

May Lou (and many other r.f.c.-ers that are no longer with us) RIP.

I think of him a fair amount, both because of his wit and because
we used to talk about Asian cuisines and cookbooks.

I saw it here and on Facebook. No problem other than being saddened by
yet another long-time, gentle, poster passing away.

I haven't heard of Cheryl doing that on FB rfc, but I know that two
posters you'd never think of as being anything other than totally
polite got into a "debate" that the moderators squashed before it got
out of hand. I thought they were being too sensitive, but it was
their call. Play by the rules or play somewhere else. Steve's just
mad that he can't pull the same BS he pulls here over there on FB rfc.
It's NOT usenet and you can't play by your own rules if you want to
participate in rfc-FB.

Sounds like a fun group to join - not. I also seem to recall you getting
into a few, erm, 'debates' with other posters right here on r.f.c. over
the last 5 or 6 years... So yeah, good job this group is not moderated
or your 'ass woulda been grass' too - several times over.

BTW there was something on one of our local news sites about FB thinking
about "opening up FB to under thirteen year olds" - Heh. As if millions
of them haven't already [illegally] got FB accounts... Why does this
whole Farcebook saga remind me of that old cartoon 'Pinky and the
Brain'? <snork>

Have I been complaining about rfc on FB? I don't let myself be
bullied here by the supreme assholes here, if that's your issue.

Kids under the age of 18 can certainly enter into contracts. But with
few exceptions they get to repudiate them at any time. Except for
necessities, (and I still think Facebook isn't one) contracts with
minors bind the other party, not the minor. Minors can repudiate these
contracts even after they become of age, provided that they don't do
anything to ratify them.

Bob Dylan could have broken the contract he made with Columbia Records
when he was a young lad of 20, but they argued he affirmed the
contract when he continued to record in their studio.

Well if he's dead, how can I tell him? I told the others. He was a
real asshole to me. And it's all archived on Google Groups for
everyone to read.
I couldn't stand the hypocrisy, everyone talking about what a saint he
was. I told the truth. I hadn't thought about the piece of shit in
years. But they brought him up. And it opened old wounds. And I told
the truth about him. And I got censored.
Whatever.

You're delusional, Sqwertz. I don't even see you on FB, I have you
blocked so you don't even exist to me. (except that the old Google
Alert I had set up years ago with my name sent me a message that
you're trash-talking me today). So don't flatter yourself. I never
wasted a moment's thought on you. EVER.

I mentioned Lou, Morrow and Blake. Yeah, the other sainted dead rfc-
er. Morrow started it and Blake and Lou egged him on, that's how it
always went.

But I love how my so-called friends over there on RFC-FB saw fit to
delete my comments, but continue to discuss what I said with people
who didn't see it. Nice. Talk about "classy".

I didn't go ape, I simply told the truth about him. One other person
concurred with me but didn't make their feelings public and that's
fine. I stand behind what I said because it's the truth. He was cruel
and viscious to me and I simply reminded people of that. And the nice
folks at Google Groups have it all archived for your entertainment.

Nice to know my so-called friends on FB deleted my comments but sent
secret messages out to everyone who didn't see them so they could
discuss it. Hypocrits.

of course you didn't see it, Barbara. We have each other blocked on

At least they were talking about someone who is alive and able to defend
herself. I thought it was a pretty good guy. I have refrained from
speaking ill of the dead in this forum, but when kick the bucket I will
feel free to make an exception.

I don't know exactly what you are talking about here Sheryl. There
was a discussion between the moderators regarding your multiple
outbursts and the course of action we wanted to take. We are the only
people allowed to delete threads and I doubt any of us are sending
"secret" messages out so we can discuss you. As far as I know, other
than the original discussion regarding the outbursts, there has been
no discussion regarding you between the moderators at all. Hope that
clears it up for you in that regard. What other people are doing is
unknown to me and quite frankly it is none of my business what
messages people send around in their private mail and messaging. And
Sheryl, this is precisely the the type of thread that is not tolerated
on the FB group.

Well someone told Squertz because he couldn't wait to post about it
here. And someone lied to him that I mentioned him. And don't say he
saw it... I have him blocked on FB so he and I do not exist to one
another on FB. Which is how I like it. So someone is telling tales
and lying about me.

Squertz has a lot of nerve insinuating that I lack class when he
couldn't wait to run off to usenet and blab all about what he heard
(2nd hand, at least) I said on Facebook. And what's the big deal? I
simply told the truth about someone who was viscious to me while he
was alive. I hadn't thought about that POS Curt (Lou, Gar, whatever
the **** he wanted to call himself) in years. THey brought him up, I
told the truth.

The last time I posted here was when your sainted Lou was making
horrible comments about a picture that was linked here somehow from
Facebook of me and my dying cat-- and that was In defense of myself.
And here I am again, posting only to defend myself against Squertz.
What is it with you people? Don't you have anything better to do than
to hunt down shit about me to talk about?? "Lou" and Blake are dead, 2
of the 3 biggest offenders. And for all I know the third one is dead
too. So now Squertz has to come out of the woodwork and pick up where
they left off??

I just don't have time or energy to have to deal with two-faced lying
bitches who are all huggy-huggy/friendly friendly on Facebook and then
talk about me behind my back. SOMEONE did. I don't know who. I don't
care. The only way Squertz could know about a thread I started on the
FB RFC is if someone told him about it.

I take a lot of adversity in real life--from people I care about, from
work, life in general. And I handle it with grace and composure. The
one place I WILL NOT TAKE SHIT FROM PEOPLE is on the internet. Yeah,
I'll defend myself. But why the hell do you people have to put me in a
position to have to????

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE! I don't want your attention, I don't want your
lying, I don't want your two-faced bitchiness. Please, forget I ever
posted here.

Very likely those who deleted your apparently hateful remarks were not
the ones urging rfc'ers' to "Gettaloada this."

Right, because whenever someone dies, it's important to publicly
discuss your areas of conflict. Nothing I love so much as reading
criticism of the deceased.

(IMHO, once death has occurred, helpful feedback is no longer so
helpful as when the recipient is alive.)

Why? Is sqwertz banned from Facebook?

The only way he could know about a thread you started on FB is for you
to post there. If you choose to post your thoughts in a public space,
be prepared for the public to respond.

No use outlining your problems with "Lou" -- he's dead and can no
longer modify his behavior. Doesn't matter if it's Facebook, Usenet,
or elsewhere.

What an asshole. He's not the only one who uses a fake name on
RFC-FB, but he *is* the only one who does it specifically to slip past
being blocked by others.

You use Xnews, right? Is there one for Windows? I currently read with
XPN and you just described the one type of filtering I can't do with XPN
that I want to. I've tried filtering out all Google posters but it's
too much. Same with webtv. Marking the ones that start new threads
would work very well.

you'll be kicked out if you ever try pulling the kind of crap you get
