Yes, this is an rfc regular throwing out some unsolicited spam. In
this case it's for Zappos, an online retailer I think you might like to know about, if you don't already: http://www.zappos.com/index0.zml Shoot me, KF me, cuss me, even call me bad words, but since they started selling kitchen stuff, I thought you might like to know about them. I've been buying shoes from them fer a couple yrs. Great service, great prices, FREE shipping, and the best return policy ever (FREE). I jes bought some sandals and was shocked to learn, FREE overnight shipping!! Turns out I'm a VIP buyer, though I have no idea why. Only bought two items in two yrs (shrug). Anyway, the prices, kitchen stuff, and killer shipping rates (if any) are reason enough to recommend these folks. BTW. they have real US citizens on the phone 24/7. I hope they drive Amazon outta business. nb -- vi --the heart of evil! Support labeling GMOs <http://www.labelgmos.org/> |

The shoes are fairly priced, the selection batter than any brick and mortar place, they carry unusual sizes, the delivery lightning fast. Thanks - I'll have to browse their kitchen gear. |

I hope they drive Amazon outta business. Putting aside your mysterious resentment of Amazon, do you have any recs for kitchen stuff? I just skimmed a couple of categories and the prices seemed about the same as Amazon. |

I sure don't-- I'm glad you're happy with Zappos-- but they can't hold a candle to Amazon in selection, and from what I see, prices are equivalent. I put popcorn in their search engine. No groceries, apparently- a couple commercial poppers- WPM 40- 199 at Zappos and Amazon WPM 25- $5 less at Amazon CPM 900 - $60 at both CPM 100- $40 at both Nordic ware camp popper- $5 more at Amazon Nordic ware 6 piece Essentials- $5 less at Amazon So they are about equal pricewise. [no shipping on any of that stuff- I *do* have to pay NYS sales tax on Amazon, but I'm happy to help out our state coffers when I can.] I spend a couple hundred a month there not counting the used stuff they have listed. I have never had a problem with Amazon, their subcontractors or the 3rd party folks. [I *almost* had a problem with a listing for some used software-- but the minute I suggested we get Amazon involved in the transaction, the seller came around.] I welcome the competition-- This is definitely one area where competition is good for everyone. Use 'em often. But, I think they are not the best. I like a company that has a phone presence. If Amazon does, they're doing a pretty good job of hiding it from me. > I welcome the competition-- This is definitely one area where > competition is good for everyone. Agreed. I'd go so far as to suggest Zappo's shipping/return policies forced Amazon into offering free shipping in certain cases. I may be wrong, not having Amazon's timeline, but it's still not up to Zappo's from-the-beginning service. nb -- vi --the heart of evil! Support labeling GMOs <http://www.labelgmos.org/> |

I can search there, but find exactly the same thing at other online retailers, and then I choose one that has good reviews and "free shipping." Since the economy went south, there are lots of online retailers who have free shipping every day on every item. This doesn't work with all categories, but it does work with many that I shop. N. |

[on orders over $25] I can't comment on Zappo's service, but I've never had a problem that Amazon didn't solve so quickly & well that I'd call the anything but excellent. If it is computer related, I usually use Newegg-- hardware is McMaster-Carr, but for most everything else I go to Amazon. Jim |
