I went to my Smart & Final yesterday looking for andouille sausage.
They thought they carried it, but no one could find it - there wasn't
even a shelf tag... so I guess sometimes they have it, but not
yesterday. I looked at the brands and sausage brands were Evergood
and Aidells, so my guess it that when they have andouille in stock,
it's Aidells.

I was going to call Cash & Carry to find out what brand andouille they
carry, but I bet it's Aidells if they have it. Aidells is pretty much
ubiquitous here for andouille.

Bummer. I'm going to have to go back to C&C and check the name of the
brand. It's just slipped my brain right now, but I don't think what
you found is it. The problem with those stores is that they get
delivery 3 days a week. If you get there before delivery, chances are
you won't find what you want. You need to get there about 6-8 hours
after delivery to find full shelves. Otherwise the restaurants come
in and strip the place. Sorry you didn't have better luck.

Cash and Carry in the BA is a real, if small, restaurant supply house.
You might have to buy andouille by the case.

Aidells is not that great. Hopefully Cash & Carry will have
something better.

This started because I was looking for a different brand that would
hopefully be better and Janet found one at Smart & Final/Cash & Carry
that she likes.

Could it be the S&F house brand that she likes? First Street or
whatever it is?

The Cash and Carry by me has a huge cold room for meat.

I didn't see anything called First Street in the deli section there.
Maybe they don't carry it or have a different house brand. Have you
seen andouille under the First St. name? If so did you buy and use it
- what did you think of it?

The one near me does too. I don't go there very often because S&F is
easier to get to and for my intents and purposes, they are identical
(I don't buy huge cuts of meat, so that part is useless to me).
