Default Garlic salt: Truth or Dare!

What's the weirdest food you ever put garlic salt on?

None.

We have salt, we have garlic. No need to stock a redundant product
that gives you no control over the ratio it you do use both.

I think I have only used it maybe once or twice. I think I made garlic
bread with it when I was pretty young. I don't personally like garlic and
especially not garlic bread. I do use real garlic in some cooking because
my husband and daughter like it. But I see no need for garlic salt.

I don't use garlic salt.

But you can't say that about "lemon pepper" seasoning...

Hmm-- I get a little thing of lemon pepper every couple of years,
then go back to zest and fresh ground. Garlic salt, however, is a
staple for me. I get it by the big container [8 oz?].

Back tot he OP-- I suppose putting it on watermelon might be the least
usual usage. Otherwise- I just overindulge.

Pork chops, the way mom made 'em-- Thick cut- lots of fat-Garlic
salt enough to leave a crust-rest 20 minutes or so, then broil.

There was a time when I would pour the garlicy/salty/fat off onto some
rice, but I prefer other sins these days.

I've never been able to match the feel/taste of garlic salt with
garlic & salt or garlic powder and salt.

I've been thinking about drying lemon zest and putting it into a
grinder with pepper. Is that what you do, if not - have you tried it?

It'll probably gunk up the grinder's burrs, even if you dry it out. If
you really need this, you might try grating the zest and then drying
it. But dried lemon zest is a pale imitation of fresh.

Haven't tried it. I like my lemon zest 'zesty'. I use a microplane
for the lemon and a grinder for the pepper.

I was being cynical. The usual "lemon pepper" seems to be salt with a
little ground lemon zest and ground pepper.

For sure. If you are shooting for lemon pepper zest a lemon then add a
couple grinds of pepper.

I also grok the thick pork chops.

Dirty rice. Yum.

I had some lemon chicken confit once. I think it was a soul food recipe. The
best lemon chicken I've ever had

Oh, jeez. Now I have to toss my garlic powder so nobody thinks I'm a
Republican.

Again....know your enemy. And you sure as hell don't.
I'm trying to be mad and hate you, George, but I can't.
You're just a funny man.

You obviously only open your mouth occasionally to switch feet.
