You gotta mouse in yer pocket, Mark? This is twice you've attacked a
webtv'er without provocation. Why is that?

I'll be the first to admit web'rs ain't the sharpest knife in the
drawer, but maybe they jes are unaware of better usenet clients and
that webtv is like using a pinecone to wipe one's ass. So, why not
educate them instead of insulting them? Perhaps they would rather
post here with a viable newsreader client than on webtv.

If not, screw 'em!

Based on those two lines, I can suggest three reasons:

1. He's an idiot.
2. He's a troll.
3. He's a nudge.

Take your pick.

I vote for nudge, as I had never seen this usage of the
term. Thanks.

Gird for battle. There's a lot of the socially hobbled hereabouts. If
you don't have killfile options on your newsreader it could be a trial.

Here "food-related" topics include your sexual preference, your DNA,
your family, your community, your politics and your psychology.
Sometimes food is included, often not.

It's pronounced a little differently from the word nudge.

The u would be more like the oo in wood.

At least where I grew up.

Welcome, Pat.

Please read along until you feel comfortable, then jump in.

Be aware that there are topics that draw ire from regulars, things like
"seasoning a cast-iron pan" and "Cuisinart vs.All-Clad" but you will
catch on to those quickly.

To all those fussy regulars: It just might be a good idea to inject new
blood into this group since it has become largely a forum for vitriol
and backbiting.

"More explaining, less complaining" is a Good Thing.

Hello, Pat. Not everyone here is rude, but you might want to put
on your suit of armor.

Welcome Pat, Post one of your favorite recipe's and why you like it
and you're on your way.

Here's one of mine:

Beef Pot Roast

3 lb. Round Roast
4 large carrots quartered
3 medium white onions cut in eighths
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp ground black pepper
5 lb. small red potatos
2 cups strong beef stock (or boullion)(boullion in beer worked GREAT)
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1/4 cup Worchestershire sauce

Preparation

Place the roast in a 1 gallon ziplock bag with the worchestershire
sauce, pepper and garlic. Squeeze out the air and let marinate for 24
hours turning ocasionally.

Sear the roast and place in a slow cooker with the potatos ( whole if
they're small, halved or quartered if you like), beef stock, carrots
and onions.

Cook on high for 6 hours.

FOR STEW

Make sure you had cut the potatos above (halves or quarters). Let the
roast cool until firm then slice into cubes as well as you can.Put
everything back into the slow cooker along with:

1 can lima beans
1 can green beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can sweet peas
2 tbsp flower in water to thicken (optional)

Cook on high 3 hours

I like it because it's simple and I only have to do it once a week or
so.

She's from Food Banter, not webtv, and it's unlikely she'll ever be
back.

Pat, welcome to the group. I began reading rfc in 1996, and 6 months
probably went by before I posted anything. There were so many messages,
I could not read all of them, I just looked for topics that held
interest to me. At times, life would get busy, and I did not look at
rfc for 6 months or a year at a time. Now, there are so few messages,
you can read the entire group in one day.

I read them all each day and I still manage to get in trouble often. heheh

Gary

As I metioned before...RFC is like one big family. Definitely a
disfunctional family but you take what you get.

What is your problem? Does everyone on foodbanter deserve your
nastiness? No. Why can't folks sit back and see how a newcomer
fits in instead of making assumptions and behaving rudely?
