Default August 31, Blue Moon (No, not the song)

No, the moon isn't blue. Once every 2.7 years (or so) there are two
full moons in a single month. The last time it occurred was in 2009 and
the next one isn't due until 2015. So, if you live in an area where you
can actually see the full moon tomorrow night, you'll be seeing a "blue
moon".

I have a really good view of the moon in the early evening so I'll look
for it.

I saw the first full moon this month. It was a "harvest moon" so it
reflected the sun and appeared to be bright orange. I don't think I'll
be able to see this full moon. It's been raining all week not likely to
stop by tomorrow evening.

And it's even better with a Blue Moon beer.

What's wrong with the song!?

I didn't realize the original Marcels had a couple whites guys in it. I
saw the all black line-up perform on Amercican Bandstand when the song
initially premiered. A R&R classic, if ever there was one.

Only a full-blown astronomy geek would care. On the 22nd of this
month, the moon was only half full, so that blows that theory all to
Hell. I'll stick with the dreamers and songwriters.
