Default Flavored marshmallow warning

I've been on a marshmallow treat jag, of late. My first few batches
came out perfect. My last batch was unacceptable. I think the
problem is this:

I don't know what is in this alleged strawberry formulation, but I do
know it's not strawberry flavor. They taste not one wit different
than plain Jet-Puff marshmallows. Worse, they seem to have an
added ingredient that ruins crispy treats.

I like my treats a couple days old. They firm up and become less
likely to fall apart while handling, yet still malleable. That's the
plain mallow treats. The strawberry mallow treats went waaay beyond
firm, straight to brittle and crumbly, like old dried-out bread.
After 3 days, I could hardly cut 'em out of the pan without them
shattering. Never again with the strawb mallows.

Admittedly, I used a different brand crispy cereal, but it was the
mallow that was hardening to glass. All batches made to exact
Jet-Puff recipe. You have been warned.
