Default New Special Issue of Saveur

Just got the new Special Collector's Issue of Saveur.
101 Classic recipes.

Things like:
Laab
Major Grey's Chutney
Kasha Varnishkes
Gougeres
Char Siu Bao
Chicken with 40 cloves Chana of garlic
Chana Masala
Spaghetti Alla Primavera
Bobotie
Nasi Goreng
Grillades And Grits
Braciola
General Tso's Chicken
Coquilles St-Jacques
Chocolate Mousse
Elvis Presley's Pound Cake
Nanaimo Bars
Boston Cream Pie

and on and on...

Of course since it's Saveur they have the "original" recipes as far as
I can tell.

I'm surprised at how many I've made but more surprised at how many I
haven't.

This is going to be a real keeper. Lots of stuff to inspire and try.

I look forward to getting this issue in the mail - hopefully tomorrow
perhaps?! Thanks for the heads-up Saveur is definitely one cooking
magazine that's well worth its subscription! OOH - the Grillades and
Grits looks interesting by its title! Will have to see what brand of
grits it uses in the recipe.

I'm so glad I got a subscription. I'm really impressed so far with
the quantity of recipes and the interesting and related articles.
Beautiful magazine. A friend gets me Cooks mag every year for
Christmas. That magazine is fairly tedious.

Their Grillades recipe is almost the same as mine. Now that's
comfort food.

The nice thing about Saveur is, they put almost all(?) their recipes
online, so I don't bother subscribing as I once did. They didn't put
the Barb article online, though.

I jes subscribed to Fine Cooking. The thing I like about FC is, when
they do a classic dish, they don't halfstep. No Ray Ray versions. A
recent issue had Beef Wellington in painful detail. I had no idea
crepes were required to cover the beef to prevent the roast juices
from making the pastry crust soggy. Told how to make the crêpes,
pté, duxelles.... all that other stuff I also didn't know about. Too
much fer me. I'll order out. But, FC had it all in there, should one
be feeling particularly froggy.

Shouldn't that be "Elvis Presley's Three Hundred Pound Cake"?
