Default Ping SF - another seasoning mix for your Christmas gift ideas

I was just making a dill dip and it called for Beau Monde Seasoning
Salt. I think at some time in the past I had this in a pre-made jar but
not anymore. Here's the recipe for you, if interested.

Recipe for Beau Monde Seasoning Salt:

1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground bay leaf
1 tablespoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons ground pepper
1 tablespoon ground white pepper
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground mace
1 teaspoon celery seed

In a small mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients. Pour into a
tightly closed jar and store in a cool, dry place.

Yields approximately 9 tablespoons.

Thanks, Cheryl! I will pin it to my DIY Seasonings Pinterest board so
I don't forget.

I'll look for this, as it has at least 6 of the spices used in my BBQ
sauce.

I see it's also used as a rub for meat and fish. Sugarless. I would add
some sugar for caramelization.

I had a very different recipe for BeauMonde in the 70s,
IIRC it was celery salt, garlic powder and onion powder,
none of the sweet spices listed above.

It would be interesting to find out how many versions of this there are.
Now I want to do some googling.
