Oatmeal Cookies #4 - a Kansas-German recipe
My grandmother's recipe.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.

1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup shortening
2 cups oatmeal
4 Tbsp milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup raisins

Cream the shortening, gradually adding the sugar.
Add the eggs, mixing well.
Add the rest of the ingredients, except the raisins.
Mix well.
Fold in the raisins.
Drop by spoonsful on greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375° For 15 minutes.
