oh, that is still in the water. I could see it being done.

I was thinking along the lines of pictures you see now and then where there
is a big ship that looks like it is in the middle of town. Those should just
be turned into smokers. BIG smokers.

Did you report all the dangerous trees and other objects to the authorities?
Or, why did you not take some responsibility and go cut down the trees you
knew were going to cause problems and deaths?

In the mean time, people can't occupy their homes and hotels can't
house guests? That company or its insurance company is in BIG
trouble.

You're sounding even more stupid than I first realized. I remove all
offending trees in my jurisdiction. Anyone who leaves big old trees
where they can fall on their house and property deserves all the
misery they get. Everytime I see on the news pictures of big old
trees that crashed through someones house or flattened the car in
their driveway I say to myself, what dumb****s! Even worse are those
worthless pinheads who build a house in a conifer forest with monster
conifers right up near their house, they deserve to be roasted alive
in the forest fires.

but trees are so pretty! Thanks for noticing my stupidity-- most don't.
Some do... Trees do give shade in the summer and keep cooling costs down.
And they make a yard and house feel better somehow, to me anyway. I'd
rather live in an old house and neighborhood with trees all around, than
have a nice home in the burbs with no trees.

Big old trees right up to a house are stupid trees, get rid of those.
Plant smaller, slow growing specimen trees near a house, they're
prettier and much more valuable. And trees growing over a roof don't
cool a house except when they fall and make a huge hole in the roof...
mostly they cause a roof to rot... it's much smarter to add attic
insulation, and what value is there to gutters clogged with leaves...

lol... agreed. But I'm not cutting down the maple tree in the front yard
(You'll be happy to know it does not extend over the house.).. Part of why
I bought this house is the beautiful maple in the front of it; though the
tree service said "it's in decline and probably only has 5-7 years left". I
don't mind raking the leaves; kind of like it. And like how they blow
around and crunch when you walk on them this time of year.

Unless it's badly holed they'll tow it off. During WWII my Dad got a
15,000 ton Victory ship off the beach that was higher and dryer than
that one. unstuck. Actually 700 tons is well within the capabilities of
a crawler crane or a floating crane, which might be easier.

Wait'll they fall, crush your house, and your home owner's insurance
determines how you've been warned those trees are in decline and you
did nothing to mitigate... they won't pay for your damage, and you
already aren't covered for tree removal anyway, no home owner's
insurance covers removing the actual fallen tree. After the tree
falls the tree removal companys make a bonanza on your emergency, it's
three times less costly to have a tree removed before it falls and
becomes an emergency. Get rid of those trees as soon as the ground
dries in spring, that's the slow season for tree removal companys,
they'll be thankful for the work and will charge a lot less. Then if
you want plant proper trees, those that don't grow humongous and grow
slowly, there are many. Redspire pear is lovely.
