Ever since I stocked up on dried beans, I have been finding that they are
cooking far faster than what it says on the package. I am not soaking them overnight. I am doing the quick soak. As in bring them to a boil, maybe boil for 2 minutes (depends on the bean), let sit for an hour then cook. Tonight I made Great Northern beans. Package says to cook for 1.5 to 2 hours after the soaking. But they were perfectly done at a half an hour. Weird. But tasty! |

I soaked my small white beans overnight and they were fully cooked in 30 minutes too. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |
