Default alfalfa sprouts

what is going on with alfalfa sprouts... Can't find them here... Guy at
Kroger said they don't carry them anymore. And even the health food store
does not have them.

Over the years there have been a number of incidents of (salmonella?)
poisoning. I think it was salmonella. Anyway, many places will no
longer sell sandwiches with them or carry the sprouts for sale.
Apparently sprout seeds can carry these bacteria. I ordered some
alfalfa seeds and mung seeds for sprouting and the packages came with
instructions for soaking the seeds in a mild bleach solution for a
minute or so (don't remember the amount of time) I do see sprouts of
various kinds around here again, just not as numerous as years ago.

Jimmy Johns has them on their menu, but never put them on their subs. ex
frowns a bit when she asks the counter about them.
