Personally, I'm tired of all the "rewards" cards. I don't like carrying them and I don't like entering or giving someone my telephone number for that. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

They have some sort of generic card or in some cases they even use their own card to give me the discount. |

Every night at dinner time. Two or three calls. This was before we had the Do Not Call list. I began screaming and acting totally crazy. This after I told them repeatedly to stop calling me. They were a horrible phone company. My boss made the mistake of getting them where I worked. The power would go out and we'd lose our phones. Or we'd just lose our phones randomly. |

I had heard a radio program and they had a guy touting this stuff on there. I can't remember the exact product but it was for kids and they said kids loved the taste. Whatever it was, I thought Angela needed it so I ordered it. She did not love the taste and neither did I. But they started bugging me about buying more stuff for her and tried to use the tactic that her health would suffer if I didn't buy her these things. |

I signed up but never got a card. They will just put in my phone number though and it works. |

Only calls I've gotten were trying to sell alarm systems. A couple of years ago it was car warranties. Never had a call trying to sell me anything food related. Never had a call remotely connected in any way to a supermarket card. Kid across the street is selling citrus fruit for a band fundraiser. Do you think he got my name because I bought oranges at Stop & Shop last year? |

Of course you're right, but this is an argument you can't win. No way can simple facts combat deeply entrenched beliefs like these. People who see plots and schemes everywhere can't be dissuaded from their persecution trips. You might as well tell a fundy that it's simply impossible the Earth is only 5000 years old. No matter how high the mountain of proof, the fundy clings to his "faith". |

Nobody complains about credit cards, which do all of the POS tracking everyone is complaining about. This is the next step, that tracks cash sales too. Frankly, rewards cards have been around for such a long time I'm surprised anyone is still complaining about them. They are what they are. If you don't like the idea, then don't get one... they aren't going away any time soon. The next step will be a consolidation into universal cards... just like the credit card concept which consolidated all those individual store cards - only it's a rewards card. Or maybe it will be another option on our credit card: credit, debit, cash sale. All they need to do is figure out how to make it profitable for a third party company, and then it will be a reality that no one bats an eyelash at. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

My only complaint is having to carry all of the cards around and remembering to give the card to the clerk. I do know people who use their credit cards for most everything but are fearful of the store cards. They will get them, but they give bogus information. |
