Default All-Clad Slow Cooker again

A while ago (12/10) I sent the following:

I bought one at Williams_Sonoma because the had a one-day sale for $179.95. I
had it wrapped because so my wife couldn't see it before Christmas. I've never
used a slow-cooker. Did I screw up?

Well, it was just fine. She loves it! BTW, this is the "Deluxe" one (7 qt)
which sells at Willliams-Sonoma for $249.95. Their one-day sale was for
179.95. So Iguessed right on both things: price and a good gift.

Thanks for reporting back, I'm glad your wife likes that very nice gift.

Forgive my ignorance but how is this device different from a crock pot?

Thanks.

It is really the same thing, only bigger, plus the insert is good for browning
on the stove top.

Difference one - Crock Pot is a registered trademark by Rival and thus
any products by any other company have to be called slow cookers.

Difference two - Much higher price for the All Clad brand name.

There are likely to be other detailed differences in exact features.
