The poster who uses that nym might be male or female, but it's likely that (s)he'd insist that her name be pronounced, "bo-kay'."

Because you Brits have little experience with beans that are not tinned? <ducking>

Read it for a while and decide for yourself :-)))

(Hint: Hyacinth is not her usenet name, it's the nickname she's been given
by others over the years)

No-one uses that nym. It's a nickname that has been given by other posters
in other ngs based on the behaviour of a certain poster.

You could always try the UK food group (uk.food+drink.misc) but do be aware
that they can be far worse than this group. In particular do not offend
Hyacinth Bucket in that group or you will need to leave it.

Hi, Fran...I will have to look into that group more often, to see who it is
that has earned that title....:-)

Yes, I agree, but there are those who take great delight in hurting people.
A true psychopath. One day, there will be someone who is really damaged -
and then watch out ...

Not true at all.

Actually he got a very warm welcome from me, and I gave him advice on
how best to get his questions answered. Then he insulted me two or
three different ways for my effort. I then gave him a faux tongue
lashing and welcomed him yet again, though this time as a paranoid
nutcase.

> But you just have to ignore anonymous bullies on usenet.

That advice may well be tantamount to personal insult to some nutcases.

I didn't come into it for a wee while because didn't realise who it was
supposed to have posted. When I realised who it was supposed to be I spoke
up.

Please note who copied his denials in the gardening groups and the response
to it - Here! And of course, who copied the supposed Baz posts from Here -
into the gardening group! I rest my case! Baz is devastated and I fear he
will never have the courage to post again

I still do not believe it was Baz who wrote that, whatever the proof. He
can be a bit prickly but not this!! Out of character!

How very sad this whole affair has turned out. Please relay my
heartfelt good wishes to the person I didn't respond to (responding
only to an apparent marauder), for the things I didn't say to them--and
especially to the way they were ill-interpreted as being to the person
of the same name.

I wasn't, but attacking me personally for attempting to help you
navigate what I thought to be a new situation for you certainly
demonstrates to me: You'll do just fine here. You're among many
similar
nutjobs.

Ah! Now, we're all set to discuss dried beans in a way that won't be
too "advanced" fo ryou. Let the fun begin!

I know! I posted it, and I think I described it (above) quite accurately.

Thanks Janet, what I feel really stupid about is that I just realized
Baz or BB is Barry. He posts here on and off as Bigbazza and I didn't
make the Baz/BB connection before this. No idea who else he is or if
he really is a sometimes poster. I'm positive many posters here have
both multiple and serial personas because strangers jump into rfc with
group history etc. You know who the real newbies are because they act
like they're new.

I'd say Baz meant he doesn't use the Baz persona when he posts to rfc.
I'd rather people picked one posting name and stuck to it, but that's
a real pipe dream considering who nymshifts and who doesn't.

Pretty sure "Baz" is *not* "Bigbazza". "Baz" is a Pom, BB is Aussie.

He did not receive a warm welcome from "gtr" and others.

But you just have to ignore anonymous bullies on usenet.

Your usual smear and lies I see.

This would be the 3rd time in 2 weeks. 6 people tell you something and you
refuse to admit that you are wrong and blame Janet and I for being at fault.
You then deny to sf that a book in on Amizon UK when it's easily found
there. Now you try the standard smear tactics used by the gutter press.

And now you move to straight out defamatory statements in addition to your
smears. You should count yourself lucky that the person you delight in
defaming repeatedly doesn't take legal action against you.

But you claimed that Baz was 'devastated' by his reception here when Baz
made no such post about how he felt. That claim is obviously pure invention
on your part.

You really do make yourself look like a prize goose with some of your
sillier statements. At least you do to anyone who can read for
comprehension. You do still manage to fool a few though.

Hi, SF.......No, I am Bigbazza ....and have been since I first started
posting at the end of the 90's...I have never changed my ID over those
years.......I sign the bottom of my posts as Barry (Oz), and have done that
for a couple of years, whereas I used to sign the bottom of my posts as
Bigbazza before that....If I am feeling 'lazy', I sometimes just put BB
down, but my post always come through as Bigbazza.....

I definitely am not connected to the Baz guy that has popped in.....Maybe I
should have not made any passing comments like I just 'LOL'ed to Janet's
post....No wonder I confused you (or any others ) But I have posted on and
off in RFC over the past 12 years or so, SF...And will think from the
Bigbazza ID that shows when a post of mine shows up would identify me.... As
Peter also has said in his post to you, that I am Australian, and live in
Sydney (but, at present visiting my kids and grandkids in Brisbane,Oz)

I did realise after reading your post that you had confused me with this Baz
from the UK....But, there you go :-)

Barry Oz........( or BB)

Hi, Pete.....Read my reply to SF......

Did you see my reply to you yesterday on AFP?....You only visit there very
occasionally......Your should drop into ABLL sometimes and meet
them....that's alt.books.louis-lamour And it's not about books...:-)

Sorry, I should have been clearer.

gtr didn't gush but nor did gtr say anything offensive UNTIL gtr was on the
receiving end of offensiveness.

They are 2 different people sf. Bigbazza is an Austrlaina who lives in
Sydney but who is currently in Brisbane. If you hit 'reply' to any of
Bigbazza's post you get: "Bigbazza" >

Then there is Baz, who posts in urg is a Brit. If you hit reply to any of
his posts here you get: "Baz" >

Also there are posts from the person who has the nym of The Real Baz. If
you hit 'reply' you will get: "The Real Baz" >

But if you do a 'properties' check on these posters, then it gets even more
itneresting. :-))

To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one.
It is rather and endless struggle
that will go on to the very last moment of our lives.
Nobody is born a warrior,in exactly the same way that
nobody is born an average man.
We have to make ourselves into one or the other.
A warrior must only take care that his spirit is not broken.

There's a order of magnitude difference between putting on the
