Default New Years Eve Dinner

I just got back from the grocery store with the makings for tonight's
dinner. Now it is just a matter of figuring out what to do with things.
Lobster was on sale for $5.99 /lb, so I could not afford not to get a
couple. I also picked up some nice big sea scallops and some huge
shrimp. The asparagus was not on sale, but I guess I bought that with
the money I saved on the lobster. I also got some Bibb lettuce and avocados.

Wow, lobster for $5.99 a pound...scallops, and shrimp, sounds like a great
meal. I wouldn't mind being at that table at all. I'm making a large turkey
(that I took the time to debone for the first time but wouldn't do that
often) cauliflower au gratin and green beans almondine.

Me: Scallops au gratin, some variation on a potato, broccoli,
tomatoes.
Might make brownies too.

5.99 a pound is still cheaper than any eat-out you could do.

I have a Standing Rib Roast thawing that I will cook tomorrow, so I
phoned in Chinese delivery for supper tonight.

Ham and cabbage soup made from the Christmas ham.

we had no lunch but an early dinner, then some snacks tonight while
watching a movie. Oh, and a bottle of Perrier-Jouet Champagne.

New Year's breakfast will be the last of the leftover ham, cheese, in
scrambled eggs.

My dinner was:

Thai/Fusion Mussels with Broiled Ciabatta (for dipping)

Slow-Roasted Chicken
Curried Kale
Carrot Timbales
Black Rice with Mandarins, Shallots, and Peas

Kabocha Squash and Coconut Gratin

Pastries from http://www.divinedessertsbyaguirre.com/

Lin took pictures. If she posts them it'll be on Facebook because
clueless AOL newbie Sheldon "Pussy" Katz can eat a bag of shit.

Mine was a bowl of Pad Thai from Noodles and Company-I added extra
scrambled eggs at home.
