Just saturday I had rice with spinach and parmigiano reggiano, sunday evening I had rice in hen broth and for tonight I was thinking about rice with peas and unsmoked bacon: I'd sautee the bacon in a pan with few olive oil or butter, add the peas and some water, cover and let go until the peas are cooked, adding water now and then if needed. Meanwhile I'd cook the rice, drain it and put it in the pan with the bacon and peas.
