That's an interesting ad. I've never seen that sale approach. Looks
like most of your dinner is there.

You forgot to include the link to Pussy's undying stupidity:

That should feed you for a MONTH. Will the felines partake?

4.99 a pound is a bit pricey for my area, but the free items make up for it
if you use them. Nice looking piece of meat though.

Or cut it up and make a stew. Something like Carbonnade de Boeuf a la Flamande would be good. -aem

That approach is common in NY, they often bundle large cuts with
appropriate go-with ingredients, especially around holiday times...
next will probably be for St Paddy's Day; corned beef will be bundled
with cabbage, carrots, and potatoes... probably Irish soda bread too.

That's exactly what I intend to do myself. The butcher would have but
I didn't feel like waiting and I prefer to tie roasts myself.

The dwarf shops the discount outlets for ungraded beef and then
peruses the used meat bin.

I'm still contemplating that lovely hunk of beef, it could very well
become delicious burgers... but it's winter here (temps in the teens
and 20ºs), it's potted meat weather. I'll probably break out my
voluptuous PIAZZA pot.

Four pounds of chuck is not a lot, it shrinks by about half... and I
have cats to feed... it'll probably last three meals. And I don't
need to use all those free things all at once; I'm sure I won't use
all the 5 pounds of potatoes or all 2 pounds of onions, I don't need
to open the Pepsis at all, and the dinner rolls and cake can sit in
the freezer for months. And I really didn't need that one pound of
carrots, I have two 5lb bags in the fridge now, I feed them to the
deer.

I don't think I've ever seen that approach, either. I wouldn't have any
use for the Pepsi, rolls or cake. Hopefully the price of the meat
(which seems a tad high for chuck) isn't contingent upon putting all
those other items in the cart.

Nice piece of meat. One of our local stores had chuck on sale last
week for $3.99/lb.

$3 is a great price. Haven't seen that around here in about a year.
