I had another sandwich dream last night. I think this one's a keeper:
Slices of honey/maple glazed turkey breast, in a pita, drizzled with bittersweet chooclate. W. Pooh (AKA Winnie P.) |

Savoury and sweet altogether isn't my fav pairing. I don't dream of sandwiches, but if I did it would be something like... sausage & onions & peppers cooked on a hotplate (*), a fried egg, ketchup and asiago cheese in a ciabatta bread. Earlier this week I recounted a dream in which I was eating some thinly-sliced, maple-honey-glazed turkey in pita, with bittersweet chocolate drizzled on top. Here the results of the taste test of this sandwich from my buddy Jim the Hobo: Note: I didn't have bittersweet chocolate so I used U-Bet chocolate syrup (just a drizzle). Tastes good. I like it. I'm not sure if I should think of this sandwich as being sweet or savory. Is it savory, like a Mexican mole sauce? Or is it sweet like chocolate-dipped beef jerky? I don't know. I also tried the syrup with maple-glazed ham. It was disgusting. And I also tried the turkey sandwich with a small chunk of milk chocolate. It was bizarre experience. I couldn't really detect the flavor of the chocolate. As far as my taste buds were concerned it could have been dirt, or something worse. --Jim the Hobo (will taste test ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!) W.
