That is horrible. My 20 y/o brother will think it's great. I'll need
to get paper bags at the grocery store next time I shop so that I have
something to wear over my head when I buy it.

I dunno.. They've been up for sale for quite a
while in the Wireless catalog and other artsy
fartsy catalogs. It might not have done well, so
it's been moved down to Chez Tar-Jay?

I agree, but it might sell well, just like that battery operated trout
on a plaque that would flop around and play a lousy tune.

Bwahahahahaha! Come on, people, it's *Target*, which has never been
exactly up-scale despite their push for higher prices. Sure it's
tacky (and would never find its way into *my* house), but it is
amusing.

Hmmmmmmm... my brother in law is hard to shop for.
This might just fit the bill. ;-)

I've seen the same item in catalogs for well over a year. Can't recall
offhand which ones. I used to take my catalogs to work and leave them
sitting where folks could go through them (and to avoid temptation myself!).
The guys in the office *all* loved this particular item!

Target has never pitched higher pricing, but has been very successful
at pitching themselves to the under 30s as trendy & stylish, while
still being inexpensive.

I isn't my favorite store, but when I was looking for a toaster the
other day, they had a larger selection than anyone else nearby in a
B&M store. I actually had a very wide range of them from which to
choose.

Someone must love them because you practically need an appointment to
find a parking place.

Oh...and I love the tissue dispenser.

Sounds like a business opportunity to come out with a "Long-Eared Rapa Nui Grave

Heh, will there be a "Short-Eared Rapa Nuiian" toilet seat cover to
go with that?

ObFood: I've had the wonderful luck to reunite with my best girlhood
friend recently, and she's hosting a get-together at her place for
some of our former classmates. I'm taking chicken drummettes in my
own teriyaki sauce:

Teriyaki Sauce

1 C. brown sugar, packed
½ C. Japanese soy sauce
¼ C. light olive oil
¼ C. cooking sherry
1 tsp. fresh ground ginger
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 cloves garlic, crushed
12-14 Chicken Wings, jointed and tips removed
*OR*
Cut up 3# Frying Chicken, cut up

In large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and blend together. Pour
over chicken, and marinate meat at least 6 hours (better overnight)
turning often. (I use a large plastic bag and just turn it over.) Bake
in glass baking dish at 325º F. for one hour, turning & basting at least
once for wings, more for whole chicken pieces. Can also be done in the
crock pot.
