I did have some once with a balsamic vinagrette. That was a mistake because I had asked to have it left off. The place where I got it had notoriously slow service which is why I didn't send it back. I was able to eat it but had wished it had no dressing. I do like a squeeze of lemon on there. And sometimes some salsa. But mostly I prefer it plain. I will eat a little Italian dressing in a pasta salad. |

My dad would always order his that way because he only wanted a touch of it. Then my mom would take what he didn't eat and dip stuff in it. Like bread. Bleh. Oh she doesn't eat it on her salad either. |

I don't care for lettuce. I like spinach salads and broccoli slaw salads
and angel-hair cabbage salads. I have had great balsamic bottled dressings and not so great. I love Kraft thousand island dressing and it is my number one go to for salads. I like the Ken's dressings-I especially like the 3-Cheese italian dressing for use on subs and english muffin pizzas. For the cabbage salad I add a container of shrimp/crab salad from Walmart to it with lots of black pepper. |

I don't go to restaurants much, but it's rare for them to toss, Or put dressing on. Pretty salads are pieced together. I hate salads without onions. The exception is when I go to favorite pasta place, only open in the summer. They only serve lettuce, tossed, with their own secret dressing. I think it has a hint of anchovy flavor. It's surprising how good a salad can be with just lettuce. Iceberg style. Greg |

I bought a bag of mixed baby lettuce greens yesterday, ate it with only my version of Italian vinaigrette and I loved it. Tomatoes and green onion are nice, but unnecessary. Anything else is superfluous. -- Food is an important part of a balanced diet. |

I mostly enjoy my own oriental salad dressings, easy to whip up in five minutes... especially good for fresh salsa made from my own garden veggies. I have no exact recipe, but think oil, vinegar, white wine, citrus, garlic, toasted sesame seed oil, soy sauce, ginger, white pepper, hot Chinese mustard, etc... some/all, any proportions. |
