Default Tte greenpan saga continues

I took the Orgreenic back to BBB yesterday and found a set of All Clad
(8 & 10 inch) anodized, nonstick pans they are selling for $60. With
the 20% off, that's $20 each - so they're well within the price range
I had in mind. I used them last night and they seemed to be fine, but
I didn't have any trouble with the green pan either, so time will tell
with how hubby uses them. All he wants to do is fry an egg (with a
little oil) and have it not stick. I don't think that's asking too
much.

From my experience, oil doesn't work so good many times. A stainless steel
pan coated with melted margarine will never stick an egg. Margarine is best
for pancake cooking too, imo. I haven't used margarine in years though. I
use real butter now and I brown it before adding the eggs on low-medium
heat. They never stick.

But isn't maragarine essentially just oil? Yes, I know some does have dairy
added. And some has stuff like pea protein.

Just use a little bacon fat.

You have to be kidding. You seem to read every post, so you should
know where he stands on animal fat.

My egg pan....which is pretty much used only for eggs and omelettes
and nothing else.......- that's why it never wears out - ......is a
simple non stick Miro pan. You need a dedicated pan for eggs. Never
use it for anything else.
Had it for a very long time and it is still slick as snot. The
trick is, never use high heat, never use anything metal in the pan,
and
NEVER PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER. Never stack other pans inside it or
if you do, put a paper towel in between them so you don't mar the non
stick surface.

You can buy an affordably priced non stick skillet like a Miro or
equivalent pan for about $20. Just make sure you don't use it for
anything else.

Have you noticed that it's solid until it gets over 100 degrees? There's a
whole field of human knowledge called chemistry.

Well maybe he needs to rethink his stand on it. Bacon fat goes with
everything I tell ya!!!

I hear you, but he's got a couple of coronary stents that he doesn't
want to clog up. In face, we had a "heated discussion" just this
morning about how he cuts all the fat off bacon meat before he cooks
it. WTF? Eat something else and don't ruin my bacon like that.

Coconut oil can be solid too.

Agrees with you, bacon fat rocks. I used the rest of my bacon fat, when
I cooked beans, yesterday, so it is time to cook more bacon. My health
is just fine, so a little bacon fat won't hurt me.

In an 8-inch, non-stick skillet, I can fry an egg in one (measured)
teaspoon of butter. Would that be too much for him?

I fry eggs in olive or grape seed oil, as does he. These new All Clad
nonstick pans are da bomb! I LOVE them. Slick as snot and browned
beautifully. Yesterday, I cooked the "extra" corned beef that I'd
bought around St. Patty's day and made corned beef hash for brunch
today. Oh, my - they worked wonderfully! My potatoes and meat
browned beautifully and the eggs over easy didn't brown at all - I
can't stand even a shadow of brown on eggs.

I'm really glad you got something that works and that you like.

Me too. It's good in chocolate cake.
