It looks like Baxter has a good relationship with the girls, they will keep him on his toes. Our feral has become a pet, which came as a pleasant surprise. After she was spayed, and they gave me pain medication to give her for the next two days. Were they serious, she hardly lets me near her. Could you imagine me grabbing her and medicating her, without being clawed to death? It worked out, though, I pointed the syringe at her, she came right to me, put her mouth on it and I administered the medication, no problem. I had seriously worried about that, too. She's a good cat, she sleeps with us every night. We have a cat door, so she can go potty, but she prefers to stay in the house. Becca |

They are safe, they stay within Baxter's barking and sight range so that if they get in trouble with a stranger he does his big, bad dog snarl and bark. Presto. Everything is o.k. Janet US |

If it is cold, or he hears thunder, he will stay in the house. He is scared of thunder, he will crawl with his belly on the ground. Becca |

Then one morning many years ago the tornado sirens went off. I turned on the TV and a funnel cloud had been spotted only a few miles from my apartment. I grabbed the bird cage and went into the bath room. Grabbed a flashlight and a pillow and a blanket and got into the bathtub. And I thought "how the heck am I going to get that cat in here?" Right then she bolted INTO the bathroom with me. I closed the door. She hunkered down between the toilet and the tub. I had a weather radio in there but the reception was spotty. Fortunately it went right past us. They sounded an all clear and that was that. I don't know how she knew to run into that bathroom with me rather than just stay where she was. We weren't hit but lots of places not far away were. She hasn't really been afraid of thunder since then. Oh sure, her ears perk up. But she doesn't run. The vacuum cleaner, now *that* will send her into hiding. ![]() Jill |

That's the only time I ventured there. Persia took her cue from you. They do observe, you know. 'o) Baxter is such a player. When I vacuum and we are home alone, Baxter follows me around the house and snoozes. When his dad is here, he presses up against him and acts scared. Then leads dad down the hall to the "cookie jar" hmmph! Janet US |

The television reported a twister about 3 miles away. Then the lights went off. I was shut in the bathroom, not posting to any newsgroups. But hey, we had lots of bad weather in that part of Tennessee. > Persia took her cue from you. They do > observe, you know. 'o) Yep, I guess so. I figured she'd stay hunkered under the bed but she decided I had a better idea. ![]() > Baxter is such a player.
