Smothered Pork Chop
Served with rice pilaf and steamed vegetables 9.00 I love smothered pork chops. I made this for us last month. There were four good-sized chops in the package. Even counting the side dishes, it sure as heck didn't cost $9. Pattie Melt 7 oz. burger patty, thousand island dressing, sautéed onion & Swiss cheese served on rye bread with a choice of side 8.50 Is it a pattie or a patty?! ![]() Jill |

Nobody knows what the **** you're talking about. 9 ****ing dollars for a smothered pork chop and two sides?? You do understand the concept of paying for 1) Waiter salaries 2) chef salaries 3) Upkeep and utilities of the club 4) Administrative costs of producing payroll for employees 5) Producing tax documents for employees and vendors 6) Paying accountants to ensure financial accountability 7) Benefits for ALL employees - not just the ones who are unfortunate enough to interact with YOU. And that's off the top of my head. Are you one of those people who thinks a hospital should charge you $.50 for a pain pill because that's the cost of it? Despite the fact that an MD had to prescribe it, a pharmacist had to fill it, it had to be transported to your floor, a nurse had to give it to you, and, oh by the way, all of them had to document every step. And, not for nothing, it cost several millions of dollars to implement the computer systems to allow this to be done. 9 ****ing Dollars? I rarely have a lunch that's that cheap. Yes, if I did it myself it would be really cheap. That's because I do all the work and I'm not being served. Are you really suggesting that restaurants serve your nasty old ass food and charge you just for the price they paid for ingredients? I understand you lucked into this place. But if you don't like it, move. You don't really belong there. It's a community tailored to older, well-off people who value convenience and care over paying $4 for ingredients and cooking for themselves. In fact, a lot of them may not be able to. I understand you don't like the food. Go ahead and bitch about that. But those prices are entirely reasonable. And, seriously, you are not their target audience. They are catering to someone not like you. MOVE OR SHUT UP. You're a ****. |

Yeah, well, when eating in rent/mortgage is already accounted for and you aren't paying cooks, dishwashers, and serving staff for making it and bringing it to you, then washing everything up. $9's pretty good for that dish "out" IMO (data point: I live in a high cost area).
