Default Renaissance Fair Food

We went to the Georgia Renaissance Festival today. You can look at the
menu he

http://www.garenfest.com/FoodDrink-24

The males in the family all had a smoked turkey leg. My sons also got
fried mac and cheese on a stick. I wanted a Greek salad on a stick, but
they were sold out, so I got a sausage on a stick. We all drank lots of
water, along with frozen lemonade and shaved ice for my boys and beer
(shandy), wine, and mead for the grownups. It was fun! The food was
entertaining, but not that tasty. The males did enjoy the turkey legs.
There is a tea house somewhere in the festival that looked good on
Facebook. I wasn't sure where it was and I didn't feel like searching.

I don't get the appeal of the legs. I have a pic of all of the males in my
family save for my dad, eating turkey legs on Thanksgiving. My dad prefers
the white meat and isn't a big meat eater.

Yes. Some people are really into them. I can't see why.

It's the drumstick. Easy to hold onto. Haven't you ever seen a movie
where cavemen were walking around munching on a big drumstick?

I would never cook turkey if Himself didn't love it. I can just about
manage the white meat.

I'm not a big movie person and don't think I've ever seen a caveman one.

I used to cook the legs for my husband on occasion. That's it. I don't
mind the canned white meat made into a gravy over mashed potatoes. Or once
in a great white a turkey sandwich. Am really not a big meat eater at all.

I think Thanksgiving cured me of ever wanting turkey. Not that we had a
whole turkey often. We didn't. We usually either went out to eat or my mom
bought a hideous thing that they still make. It was turkey shaped into a
roll. Part dark and part white. Came in a foil pan with gravy. Came
frozen. Was talking to my friend about this and she said her mom was fond
of them as well. The appeal was that they cooked rather quickly and could
cook from frozen. Pppyuck!

But on the few occasions where my mom did cook a whole turkey, we ate turkey
so many times I couldn't stand it. Sandwiches were not something we had
often at our house so we didn't have those. Instead it was usually put into
soup or salads. Two ways I do not like it. People try to do turkey like
they do chicken. Not usually interchangeable in my book.

There is a meadery here that makes their living from those things.

Where else can you see so many fat girls with enough cleavage to hold
a smoked turkey leg?

Ah...the site of substantial cleavage...makes sore eye feel better.

Sounds almost like that Racheal Ray pizza that we tried. Not good! I do
like turkey with pesto, spinach, tomatoes and onions on flat bread.

Not the movie. No. I did watch the cartoon when I was a kid.
