Default Serendipitous apple cake

I was actually trying to re-create a cookie I bought from the grocery
store but I didn't take into account the amount of water in the
apples. So I thought I'd just pour the batter into a pan and make a
cake instead. It actually turned out good. I iced it with simple
icing made with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. As for the Rice
Krispies, I almost always put powdered Rice Krispies in my cookies. I
like the flavor and remember this was originally suppose to be a
cookie recipe. I'm still working on the cookie recipe. The key is to
get the apple flavor but withour all the liquid. I'm thinking of
using apple butter.

Here's the cake recipe.

2 cups apple puree (Run peeled and cored apples in a food processor
with the chopping blade until you have 2 cups of puree. I could say 2
cups of unsweetened applesauce but I wanted to be specific as to what
I meant.)

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

About 4 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal run through a blender or food
processor until reduced to fine powder. Measure out 1 cup of the
powdered cereal.

3 cups flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Pre-heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 9" X 13" cake pan. Cream
together the butter and sugars. Stir in the apple puree. Add the
eggs and vanilla. Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the
batter. Stir until combined. Pour into prepared pan and bake for
35-40 minutes or until springs back when lightly touched and a
toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
